I think people are overestimating Al Hymons power.

And Showtime is trying to compete with HBO in prestige. They both don't mind losing money on a show or fight, if it means they get more subscribers and if it helps cement their identity.

HBO is basically the only cable network that renews failing shows over shows that have better ratings, all in favor of prestige and awards. No one watched The Wire when it was on, ESPECIALLY in the first few seasons.

HBO produced entertaining fights every week at the end of last year. I've really never seen fights shown on a weekly basis on cable networks before. It was glorious. It took many weeks for Showtime to have an answer for it. So this talk about Showtime producing more fights is complete bs.

I have yet to see a list of non-PPV fights Showtime produced last year. These Showtime fanboys can't produce any. I can tell you they're not many. Big events on PPV have a way of screwing up the list.

Does not even show all the fights for the year, including The New generation and the other boxing (cant think of the name). With each one of the 8 listed in 2013, all of them had prelim fights on ShoExtreme.

Chavez Jr/Vera was good, Mike perez/Magomed was GREAT, Bradley Marquez was meh (in my opinion), Alvarado/Provodnikov was pretty good. Nothing else of note after August. So please tell me about those entertaining fights every week at the end of the year. Or are you just referring to a couple knockouts?

There you go. You have proven my point. Thanks!

Excluding PPVs (Mayweather/Canelo plus undercards ******, btw. All went to the distance. Non-PPVs are often better) Showtime is still lagging when it comes to numbers considering Haymon/Schaefer took their so-called "stacked stable" over to Showtime. It's pathetic.

Why don't you show a complete list of non-PPV fight events on both networks right after Mayweather's PPV last year to present?

Have no clue how i could have proved your point. On their website, Shotime does not have their whole 2013 schedule listed. So fights that go the distance automatically suck? Shotime will always be behind when it comes to numbers due to the number of subscribers to the networks, thats common knowledge. I cant find the full schedule of all the fights shotime put on last year. Let me try BoxRec and see if i can pull it.

                    I sincerely want to know.

Show me a complete list of non-PPV fight events on both networks right after Mayweather's PPV last year to present? I'll take your side if you can show Showtime is doing far better than HBO.

Have no clue what you mean "doing far better."

Shotime is only showing 4 fights after the May ppv. Each card has prelims on Shoextreme. i am still trying to find more fights for you. They dont even show the list of ShoExtreme or ShoBox The New generation fights. Im working on it.
