Will Al Haymon bankrupt Showtime Sports?

I can't imagine how Showtime will be able to make all the huge paydays for Al Haymon's roster of boxers.

I think to avoid bankruptcy, Showtime will end up giving the boot to Haymon, just like HBO did.

No, I don't think Al Haymon will bankrupt Showtime Sports.

None of us have a scratch of the required information about finances, accounts and contracts to even make that judgement.

Couldn't you have used one of the other threads to vent your distress at Al Haymon and Stevenson?

      Wrong.

ESPN usually reports the amount paid to each boxer for every major fight.

Showtime has a budget. I'm fairly certain they will stick to that unless someone wants to get fired.

Why would they go bankrupt? Do you have any evidence they are in trouble?

Because of paying extraordinary amounts of money to mediocre Haymon boxers like Andre Berto, HBO Sports ran into some financial difficulties for awhile (they were not making any money).

So they let Greenberg go, and let Haymon's friend Kery Davis go as well.

HBO no longer give in to Haymon's unrealistic money demands for mediocre boxers, but now Showtime appears to be making the same mistakes HBO made.

I wouldn't say bankrupt but probably use more money than usual with all these fighters signing with Haymon expecting big money. I think it would be a big mistake on showtimes part if they keep paying all of Haymon fighters big money. Only Floyd demands/brings big money.

I believe the variables involved are too great for outsiders to make an accurate assessment.

As stated earlier, but in a different manner: Since we do not have Showtimes accounting records, and we do not have access to the contractual agreements which outline revenue distribution, we are in no position to question or debate adequately whether the decisions being executed by Showtime, in relation to its dealings with Haymon and others are unsound.

And since Showtime's Top-Execs priority is to further grow and expand the companies asset exposure while minimizing liabilities -- It is safe to assume that any detrimental agreements would be shot down, before it even has a chance to affect the companies bottom line profit margin.

So, with that being stated ... NO! there is no chance that the sports section of Showtime will be allowed to suffer, as a consequence of conducting business with Al Haymon and others (Promoters, sponsors etc...).
