Hopkins is known in Canada from the Pascal fights and he has a proven record of getting good ratings on tv. Him versus Stevenson is a bigger moneymaker than Kovalev (imo.)

I couldnt care less about Canada (No offense) That's a bad headline for a US PPV card. And it smells, to me, that this is what Showtime is thinking.

You might not care but a sold out crowd in Canada means money for everyone involved. And if 3 light heavyweight belts are on the line it would be a decent ppv.

But no need to get too far ahead, HBO can still make the Kovalev fight if they can come up with a better offer. If Stevenson turns down a better deal then I will agree that he's ducking.

But truth is nobody here will ever know the exact terms of these deals. Sho is at a complete advantage over HBO because of Haymon. He and Espinoza have a working relationship. HBO pretty much told Haymon to go eff himself. So it's unrealistic to think Stevenson will be on HBO soon.

Exactly nobody had a problem with that now the shoe is on the other foot and its a problem and is ruining boxing.
