Schaefer does bring up a good point. Why does a fight HAVE to be on Showtime? Or on HBO?

It should go to the network that is offering the most money. At least as far as the boxers are concerned.

Why is he facing Fonfara instead of Kovalev, if he would have been offered more money? THis isnt a money thing, its pretty obvious.

Also it was Schafer who cut ties with HBO and forced all his fighters to fight on showtime and now the network which offered the most money. And im sure none of his fighters have a showtime contract

Because it's not a better offer. Kovalev fight is bigger than a Fonfara fight, and Stevenson would make more money v Kovalev than Hopkins.

For Fonfara-Stevenson it absolutely is a better offer. Showtime was willing to pay more than HBO.

We don't know yet how much Showtime will put on the table for a Hopkins-Stevenson fight so it's premature to comment on that. And presumably HBO can still make an offer for Kovalev-Stevenson, nothing is stopping them.

So Adonis can wait until then and compare the two proposals.
