What? You can't believe that a guy who would make money off a big time unification fight between Stevenson and Hopkins has no horse in this fight?

Schaefer does bring up a good point. Why does a fight HAVE to be on Showtime? Or on HBO?

It should go to the network that is offering the most money. At least as far as the boxers are concerned.

Kovalev has a multi-fight deal with HBO. Short answer, TV companies tie fighters into contracts.

Let's Keep Boxing Reporting high quality

I'm pretty sure Schaefer said 'fiduciary', not 'judiciary'. And he's so far up Haymon and Espinoza butt that he really shouldn't be calling out Main Events for staying loyal to HBO.

Where was Schaefer a year ago? When Kovalev tried to fight Hopkins, before he signed for HBO? Schaefer didn't ask Kovalev to come to Showtime and thus let him go with HBO and take the Cleverly fight...
... No, they don't want any part of the Russian at this stage...

That is what he meant, and corrected.

And he has to live up to that deal.

But Stevenson obviously isn't tied up so why shouldn't he take a better offer when one comes along?

Because it's not a better offer. Kovalev fight is bigger than a Fonfara fight, and Stevenson would make more money v Kovalev than Hopkins.

Not surprising to see **** come out so fast to bat for Haymon's lackeys.
