Oscar started golden boy to be a promotion run by fighters for fighters, his idea was too good to be true, I remember when he brought Mosley and Hopkins on board.

Oscar also wants to end the cold war, he never hated Arum, he was being told what to say and do by Richard. Richard controls Oscar pretty much and pretends to be like a big brother to him.

oscar and arum has been at each others throats since oscar got a royal screwing by arum. and to think richard controls oscar is ludacris.

They're still amateurs compared to Arum. It's not hard to organize fights. Even wedding planners can do it especially when it's raining with dollars. Question is, do they make more than they spend, or the reverse?

I worked in the business and it's an incredible amount of work to put together an event.

Fans really don't have a clue how much bs is involved in putting together a show. You can everything perfectly and a million things will still go wrong.

Richard controlling Oscar is pretty much well known, I wouldn't say he is controlling him like a slave, but he is the one Oscar obeys pretty much.

Oscar is willing to end the old war, he has gone on record already, Oscar nad Arum don't hate each other at all. Arum talks **** oscar talks ****, they fight and they make up, they did it before. the main problem is Richard and Haymon and Mayweather, Mayweather is a puppet as well, every time he sees Arum he smiles and hugs him does that seem like a guy who hates another guy? Its like Floyd is being told what to say and do by someone.

Oscar wants to end the cold war because a golden boy split is just a matter of time, and he will need to partner up with someone. That is if there is even anything left for him, which I doubt there will be.

IMO haymon has been planning this for a long time. It all makes sense why he had all his fighters on short contracts. Essentially it makes there contracts with GBP worthless, and in many ways, makes the company worthless, which will make it very easy to pull his fighters when he decides to split.

Haymon is a smooth dude. He essentially has changed the way the entire sport functions, so that it benefits him, and now he will get rid of GBP after milking them for all there worth, and start his own promotional company.

lol Oscar v Canelo coming to a screen near you.
It is just just Oscar, there are other investors wondering when they are going to get a return.

                Floyd is definitely overpayed.

This started back in like 2008. Someone at GBP got greedy and started a spending spree on signing fighters. They then tried to corner HBO and for quite a while, had an exclusive contract where they could basically pick all the dates they wanted, and shutting Top Rank and other promoters out for a few thin pickin dates.

Arum in return threatened to take his stable and pacquiao to Showtime and then HBO let their leash out with Golden boy and gave TopRank an equal amount of dates. Things were OK for a while and then GBP then tried to corner HBO again by threatening to sign Canelo on showtime trying to arm twist HBO over Dates Top Rank already had signed. It caused enough bad blood that HBO finally said enough is enough.

If you look back, GBP became greedy and aggressive with everyone they worked with in an attempt to drive Top Rank (and others) out of business. They kept spending while Arum just started running more lean. Arum is still signing young fighters while the meat of GBP's stable is getting older. It will get interesting over the next couple years, regardless if Oscar takes control back or not.

Its only a matter of time GBP breaks up and it'll be because SHO is losing money putting on these garbage ass fights. The same thing happened at HBO when they were give guys like Berto million+ paydays for fighting bums.

And Al Haymon ain't gonna become a promoter. He legally can't, its against the Ali Act for the same person to be a manager and a promoter.

I honestly don't care if they break up or not...

IMO it's much ado about nothing

It will be fun to watch the drama unfold as everything unravels, but I watch boxing for the fights and fighters and not promoters
