why compare pac-man's legacy to duran? compare pac-man's legacy to elorde's is a better comparison!

i know that but there may never be a generation with a combination of SGL, Hearns, Duran and Hagler in boxing ...

but IMHO we can get close or similar to that golden age ...

i have read countless of times that Erik, Marco, Juan and Pac rivalry are somewhat comparable (not equal) to the FAB 4 Rivary of SGL, hagler, hearns and duran ...

Duran started at 118 and went all the way to 160 to win a belt. If Pacquiao started at 106, he would have to go to 147 or 140, at least, to be equal. Pacquiao would have to hold his own or beat Cotto or Hatton. That seems close to impossible though.
i really dont think pac should go that far, but heck now I should look for PAC's Barkley but only at 140 ...

but please be reminded that at the lower weights a few pounds spell the difference and PAC being the REALLY smaller man, his tops is at 135 and that is IMHO even pushing it too much...

raheem-leonard is not a good comparison, floyd mayweather if hey ever fought at 135 is more like it

corrales-hearns is not a good comparison again: hearns was as an awesome boxer, corrales well... no.
with this respect morales was closer to hearns, wiht his better skills, but too small. there is really no substitute here.

castillo-hagler is the best comparison of the 3, but it is still a long way: castillo has been stopped, castillo is still too small to make the parallel pac vs jlc - duran hagler. if hatton kicks a lot more ass maybe hatton would be the closest we can get to hagler (closer but far, imo)
i know the comparison is bit of a stretch but to me that's how i see it...

for me hatton is PAC's Iran Barkley, but i think i wont and should not go that far...

that's very true, i believe that PAC is stil trailling Elorde's accomplishments but Manny is still young and if he can keep the mommentum up he is likely on his way to be Phillippines best fighter of all time...

i did not ask this question and as a pacfan i just felt the need to answer this question my way ...

If PAC is able to pull the biggest upset of the modern world against DLH, Hell yeah he surpasses Duran.

I mean, if you think about it, Barkley was made to order for Duran stylewise, wasn't even as talented as Duran. But with PAC, outside of an immense difference in size, stylewise PAC is made to order for the counter-punching boxer DLH.

PAC has more to overcome against DLH than Duran had with Iran.

This is a sick post. Do you know how old Duran was when he beat a prime Barkley. Sick!

Pac beating Barrera, Morales and Marquez was good. Those 3 are not legends. They are great fighters. Sugar Leonard was a legend. Legends are held in the highest regard. The resume of PAc and Duran...wait, why am I even discussing this....
