I am betting Martinez big but give the running man credit for taking this fight.

And Tito-Vargas was better than anything Cotto has been involved with.
    tito had good boxing skills.

problem is ppl think good boxing skills is running around trying to make ppl miss.

    tito is superior.

ppl tito beat can beat cotto. vargas for sure, whitaker definitely. blocker? carr? yory boy campas? hell david reid without a lazy eye. lol

ppl that beat cotto would have a tough time with tito. maybe floyd can decision tito but that is not certain. pac and marg would get ktfo .

tito trinidad would never go life and death with joshua clottey. simple.

Tito unified titles at 147 & 154 then lost to hopkins trying to unify at 160, that alone is more than Cotto has ever done.

        hell no
if he beats Martinez, it means Martinez was even more shot than Cotto
and that's all it would mean, Cotto has no business winning this
Cotto doesn't belong at MW or even JMW
and Martinez is ok but hardly a gauge to greatness/elevated greatness
        Trinidad>>>>>Cotto, it's not close

My goodness no. Tito has had legit wins above 147 against guys no on the same level as Yuri Foreman or Delvin Rodriguez. Hell, his win over William Joppy is more impressive than Cotto's run of wins over the past couple of years.

While I like Cotto, this is absolutely insane. There is no way this would make him even close to Tito. Just compare resumes and ask yourself this, do you really think they would have ever let Manny get anywhere near Tito at 147???? (papa Trinidad would have never agreed to a catchweight)

Tito's a better fighter than Cotto and no, a win over Martinez would not take him to Tito's level.

However, the majority in the media disagree with us. From what I've read in the mainstream media, people seem to think that a win over Martinez vaults Cotto above Tito. I'm not saying I agree with it, but it is what it is.

                  Hell **** NOOOOOO!!!

Whoever said yes better check himself.

In this era Tito would have accomplished the same feat. Just think about it. Tito would probably be considered the favorite against Martinez and nobody would be questioning if he was going to campaing at 160 if he did win.

Tito's resume is stacked. He wasnt just a draw. He was one of the best of his time.

How could Cotto do In Tito's time and against Tito's opponents??

How would Tito do today and gainst Cotto's opponents?

Margarito doesnt make it past the 7th against tito. Pac would have stayed at 140. Maywesther would have retired. And Trout wouldn't have made it past the 4th.

It would definitely increase his argument but I doubt it would among many peoples opinions. It would certainly help his case in getting his name even higher up with PR's greatest.

Truth is that Cotto was stumping all over Clottey until the head but and massive cut.

The cut, imparing Cotto's vision was the equalizer.
