Ah, what I would've given to learn the game the right way. I taught myself when I was 7 or 8 years old and played weakly for years, before encountering some decent players who introduced me to some books. By the time I started studying some games, I was already into my early-twenties. Lots of wasted time. Sometimes I go a few years without playing, but it's a great game I can never give up for too long.

Stylistically, his come forward style does suit Garcia. It should make for an entertaining fight while it last. Still, Uchiyama didn't get to #1 in the division with victories over Miura and Salgado by being bad.

I have little doubt Uchiyama is good, although I've never seen him fight. The problem I have is that the Gamboa fight is more attractive. If Mikey faces Yuri a little bit down the road, all is forgiven. But if this turns into another JuanMa deal....

I personally hope Mikey fights Uchiyama and then Gamboa. Gamboa, meanwhile, should stay active while waiting for the Garcia fight.

That's true I play a lot against the computer before finding gameknot and chess.com, I learn how to move the pieces when I was around 4, my neighbor was competing on a regional tournament and I fell in love with the game.

I don't like to lay online or against computers too much. I much prefer live play against strong human players. I recently moved to Florida, and I'm having trouble finding a source of regular competition. When I have good playing partners, I can't get enough of the game.

One of the immortals of the game. The man was world champ in the twenties, but they still talk about him like he was Babe Ruth.
