    2. Can you honestly say rounds 1 thru 7 Angulo was legitimately trying? It's not even close, the man clearly wasn't there to fight, for whatever reason that may be, who knows. But I can tell you there's no way in hell you can truthfully tell yourself that Angulo was trying to fight. Toast punches didn't even attempt to look strong. It wasn't that he could phase Canelo, it's the fact he through them with absolutely no power AT ALL. And that was right from the jump, not like he caught a beating then claimed up. He refused to throw anything with any type of authority.
    Dude... after the first round

Virgil Hunter: "Are his punches bothering you?"
    Angulo: "Yes a little bit"

There is your answer, straight from his mouth. He was getting hurt from the opening bell.

    • I'm loyal to the dog....I had him picked to win this by KO late.....but nothing about the fight shocked me.....Nelo was ripping the dog constantly with power shots....the stoppage was perfect for me, just as I was about to turn the fight off, Weeks stopped it....like I said, Perro is a fighter I like alot.....I saw Nelo toying with him while Perro looked slow and hopeless.....I couldn't watch him get thumped like that....one way traffic.....perfect stoppage from my perspective!!

Nelo rebounded and scored his lay up.....assist to GBP...Nelo vs Quillen could be fire by next year....assuming Nelo beats the Maravilla-Cotto winner....Lara gonna get avoided....I been saw it, Nelo won't fight him!!

The Lara fight he ****** to the body all night against a slick Lara that was giving him the body to counter, and capitalized on Lara making 2 mistakes. Outside of the knock downs, it was not that difficult of a fight for Lara.

Arm punches for 10 rounds? Retire from boxing.
You have fans scratching their head yet they never think once to look at the Golden Crooks Promotion.

As a reference please go watch his fights against Lara, Kirkland, or anybody else he has fought. You will see a completely different fighter. He is known for his power punching. He's a BRAWLER and did not throw one bomb tonight. Then come back and explain the pitty pat pillow punches he was throwing out there with Canelo.
I've seen Angulo fight, and I've already said that his punching power wasn't on par with what we've seen out of him normally, but he threw 67 more power shots than Canelo, and somewhere around 200 more total. Does that count for nothing? I'm sure there's a wide array of reasons why Angulo didn't have his normal pop on his punches, I just don't believe throwing the fight is one of them. After viewing what he did during and after the fight, that's an unfair reason to me. A guy with a plan to lose doesn't out-throw his opponent. As someone above me already stated, Angulo told Hunter that Canelo's punches were hurting him since round one. There was probably something off with him, sure. But did he come to throw the fight? Not in my opinion.

There were several posters not too long ago that labeled him a quitter after the Lara bout even though he had a severe hematoma. Tonight, he takes a beating but never stops throwing, even gets emotional about the stoppage, but the heart and grit is all a ruse because he was gonna throw the fight anyway? I'll never agree with that.

Did someone poison his water bottles? He looked horrible. I've never been a Canelo fan but I have to admit that he did his job. He was compact, fast and accurate with his punches. But what the hell happened to Angulo?
