1st Al Haymon is not a boxing guy, he does business differently. He made his $ by being the biggest concert promoter- he used to do the budweiser super fest tours etc.. he used to invest floyds $ in alot of his shows so they became very good friends because Haymon is a harvard grad with integrity - He had floyd invest in one of 50 cents tours this is how floyd and fiddy became very close at one point. You cannot compare him to the street opportunist Don King - Haymon just bailed Tarver out of jail and paid off his ******** debt, Tarver is 45 YEARS old and is on his down slide so it was not a business move, this is why everyone gets down with Haymon - he gets you paid more, he takes care of his fighters - Period -

After 4 years the only big success story is Floyd, though it's apparent that many guys have bought the rainbows.
Make no mistake, this isn't an attack on Haymon, or even a suggestion that there's anything wrong with him, but he ain't some kinda wizard who can magic boxing revenue outta the ether.
I'm old enough to remember when Don King was supposed to have the 'magic touch'..and well...you see where I'm going
He made Matthysse vs Garcia immediately after signing Matthysse.
He's gotten Lara fights with Martirosyan, Angulo and Trout, soon after signing with him.
He got Trout two big fights with Cotto and Canelo.
He's given Chris Arreola multiple title fight opportunities, with a vacant WBC HW title on the line next.
He got Andre Berto multiple million dollar pay days.
He has fighters like Danny Garcia, Marcos Maidana, Keith Thurman, Lucas Matthysse, Paulie Malignaggi, Luis Collazo, Devon Alexander, Josesito Lopez, at 140-147 and we should expect to see all of these fighters face each other sooner or later thanks to Al Haymon/GBP. Al Haymon doesn't use the formula of overly marinating a match up and watching it go up to sh-t, like Gamboa vs Lopez. Haymon is not afraid of putting his best fighters against each other, he showed that with Lara-Trout, Garcia-Matthysse, Alexander-Porter, etc.

The dude just won Manager of the year, and every one of his fighters are singing his praise. Look at the final press conference where Santa Cruz praised him so much that even Shaeffer joined in.
I'm starting to think some of the so-called fans are Bad for boxing.

Obviously there is some shady stuff on whether he's a manager or personal advisor, since it's illegal for a manager to put two of their fighters against each other and get paid from both (The Ali Act).
