this is what im saying. it doesn't make sense from khans perspective. its like gbp is trying to float him along to a mayweather fight. like they are banking on khan fighting and beating the most weakest credible opponenet possible and floyd not having any dance partners for the fall. both are huge gambles.

They've been doing this for a year now. What's another couple of months?

I don't really consider Collazo a credible opponent either really.

Brook is ranked, he'll make a whole lot more money, be a huge fight here.

Makes sense to do that unless you're getting a fight like Broner or Porter which neither are happening obviously.

Espinoza did say that Khan can't fight in September.

I don't know how true that is but that's what he said recently.

I rather see Khan vs Collazo than Broner vs Molina. I said in the past if Khan was going to get the fight it would have to be in May. Ramadan is scheduled to start June 29 or 30th depending on the moon Eid would end the first week of August so that would give him 5 or 6 weeks to train for a Floyd fight barring he doesn't upset by Maidana.

It's a less expensive fight for them to make than Guerrero or Broner. If Khan wins, he gets a lot of credibility. Still might not get the Floyd fight, but he gets his momentum and confidence back.

This is good news for Collazo, but makes no sense for Amir Khan or Golden Boy. Collazo is no easy fight, and I could very well see a scenario where Collazo knocks Khan out!
If you're going to have Khan lose, might as well be to Broner or one of your top guys in your stable.

So Floyd told Khan to get a big victory at 147 So he can land the fight and they come up with Collazo? He is now the gateway to a possible Floyd fight? I rather see Khan vs Porter, at least he'll have a Belt then. Even paulie malinnaggi rematch is better and more deserving of a Floyd fight gateway. After he destroys Collazo he better not land the Floyd fight.

The thing is Collazo is no easy fight.
He is a very underrated veteran who was given the raw end of the deal in big fights like Berto, and Hatton.
One could easily see Collazo KO Khan.
