All of a sudden Khan is a boxingscene fav. About two weeks ago, folks on here were calling him a clown, undeserving of Floyd, etc, etc. Fast forward two weeks. Floyd is duckin' him. AB is scared ****less of him. And now Khan has all kinda fans of him. Which is why the vast majority of the regulars are are CLOWNS.
(Let me chime in as someone who has been a Khan fan since the 2004 Olympics.)
Floyd is not ducking Khan, and Khan is not deserving of a Floyd fight. My main problems with Floyd picking Maidana are:
1) Maidana is only marginally more deserving than Khan.
2) Floyd dangled a carrot in front of Khan until the day before the "big announcement".
3) Speculation exists that Khan was never really in the running, and Floyd only used him to make Maidana look like a good choice in comparison.
And AB is not scared of Khan. It's just not in their best interest to fight each other next. Khan wants to commit to the WW division, AB wants to move back down in weight.
Bob Arum may be greedy with money.. But at least he doesn't PROTECT his fighters.. Instead puts them with the biggest and baddest fighters for them that they can possibly face that would ultimately raise their fame if they were to win. Am I right boxing fans??
Even though more than a week ago Schaefer said they weren't gonna match them. Even before Floyd suggested it. None of that matters right. BTW, how can we confirm Khan's people "contacted" AB? Hell, Floyd called Manny personally and Pac turned down a career high payday. So according to your logic, Manny ducked Floyd right.
The thing is Collazo is no easy fight.
He is a very underrated veteran who was given the raw end of the deal in big fights like Berto, and Hatton.
One could easily see Collazo KO Khan.
Agree, Collazo is one of the most underrated fighters fighting right now. I personally thought GBP made a huge mistake putting Ortiz in the ring with him on his comeback fight. But the facts still remains, Collazo should be in no way shape or form a gateway fighter to land Floyd. To land a Floyd fight you should either have a belt to unify or come off 1-2 big victories over big names. Victor Ortiz is one of my fav fighters but beating him shouldn't put you in a position to fight Khan for the rights to possibly fight Floyd next

That's cuz he has no fighters to protect. He only have a hand full of fighters and has no choice but to make them fight each other. If Bob had Khan, Thurman or matthysse to name a few, he would've put them all against Pac by now.

My stance on Floyd when it comes to Chino and Khan. I think they're equally ****ty opponents. I look at this is nothing more than a tune-up/stay busy fight. Khan's a better fighter than Maidana. Maidana has done a lil more lately, especially at 47. So it is what it is. I'm not interested in either.
As for Floyd "dangling the carrot" in front of Khan. Khan's a grown man in charge of his own career. Was is shady of Floyd? Absolutely. That said, Khan is the one that opted to take the path of least resistance to a Floyd fight. Kinda reminds me of the Tarver-Harding rematch. Tarver was already Roy Jones' mandatory. And basically, the Harding rematch was a fight that he really didn't need to take. He could have sat on the sidelines and waited for his shot at RJ. But he opted to avenge his loss to Harding. And left no doubt that he was the biggest threat to RJ if RJ opted to come back down to 75. Khan could have don't something very similar against Alexander. Say what you want about Floyd. Floyd has been very consistant about fighting guys coming off big wins. Can't say for sure. But if Khan beats Alexander and has a belt. I doubt seriously we're discussing Floyd jerkin' Khan around and we'd be discussing Floyd-Khan in May.
As for Broner. His future is clearly not at 47. At least not in the immediate future. So the mere mention of a Khan fight was ******. And nothing more than Floyd trying to add a lil sizzle to a ****ty main event that he's asking people to shell out money to watch. If AB and Khan had any pride about themselves. They both would have told Floyd to go f.uck himself. Especially Broner. Because its fairly obviously Floyd wants to turn AB into his lil undercard sideshow and gatekeeper. And that's after snatching Maidana away from him after AB exercised his rematch clause and wanted to try and avenge his loss. He thinks Floyd is his friend. He needs to open his eyes.
