But because Lara fights at jr middleweight, and a very easy and convienent name to plug in to the "Floyd's duckin' ________" campaign, Lara's their guy right now. So at day's end. Its not about a personal taste in styles. Its not even about entertainment. Rigo is a jr bantamweight. So he's not a threat to Floyd, Ward, Broner, and any other fighter these clowns on here hate. So they have no use for him. Likewise, he'd expose all their lil favs in the lower divisions. So its better to just dismiss him as if he doesn't exist.

On a sidenote. Freddie Roach publically admitted that Rigo's skill set is so good that he passed on an opportunity to have he and Pac spar. #nuffsaid
Roach also said that Khan was kicking Manny's ass in sparring, so I would take that with a grain of salt.

Anyway, Rigo is the man at 122, no denying that, but I don't see him as completely proven yet. The Donaire win was great, but I would like to see how that famous defense of his holds up against different styles.

Rigos notables wins : he beat Abner mares , 17- 7 , final for gold medal in a pan nam games . He beat Russel jr in elimination title , he beat the ducker , the 142 pounders , norigo ducknaire .
Would have beaten lomachenko in the 2008 Olimpic games , had rigo not defected to the USA .
All other 122 are waiting for him to die , they can beat him . For now .
Go rigo , hit and not get hit ; you can not hit what you don't see .

True. In Quiggs case i just do not think he's ready. His team jumped at the chance to get that bogus title but its put him in a place he isn't ready for..

I'm happy for him to fight a few more opponents before mentioning Rigo, its just frustrating that he's the one who's supposed to fight GR according to rankins and ****.

The rest id love to see in with Rigo. Santa Cruz would be my first choice but obviously promotional issues will hold that back for now.

It will be interesting to see how his career goes after his TR contract is up. Hopefully it will be the end of his $300,000+ purse demands and he can start securing some opponents like Kiko Martinez and possibly the winner of Frampton Santa Cruz down the line.

Whoever he fights i just hope its filmed and that i can watch it in some way!

Everybody would. But he's basically being blackballed by his promoter. So we're not likely to see him against anyone relevant.

As for the Manny-Khan sparring. I wouldn't doubt that Khan got the better in sparring. He may have been in better shape. And more importantly, they were wearing headgear and big gloves. Manny Stewart said several times that he would match amareurs with top flight pros in sparring. Because for 3-4rds, the amateurs would often get the better of the top level pro. So its not outta the question Khan could get the better of Pac in sparring. But in a real fight, everyone knows Pac would knock him flat on his ass.

Obviously there are good fighters fighting exclusively in Europe; but, historically, the best fighters are American, or fighting out of the U.S. If you're not fighting the best, you can't claim to be the best. If an American chess player wanted to prove himself, he'd have to travel to Europe, because that's were all the best players are.

The U.S. isn't well-represented at 122, but she still has more world champions than anyone else. Additionally, the world #1 super-bantamweight lives and fights out of the U.S. If those other guys don't want to fight Guillermo, how can they even be taken seriously?
Historically, or whatever happens in other divisions is largely irrelevant to the case in hand. Boxing is a far more global sport now, and the US really only touches the middle divisions, 135-175, elsewhere is up for grabs...a trend which'll probably continue. Super Bantamweight is a very split division....fighting in the US isn't a requisite for being taken seriously (unless you have that superiority complex view of boxing). Should Haye-Klitschko have been in US as historically America was home of HW superstardom ?

Noone said a Rigo-Quigg/Frampton fight won't happen though. I don't see why they can't fight in the UK until a Rigo fight materialises without being "not taken seriously". Why is the logic different for Rigo? As a lot of competition is within Europe, he could also solidify himself over here.

As for bolded, it is much a repeat.... who here said they are the best? I agree with original post - they are 'youth movement', up and comers. Who you can take seriously for now

I don't necessarily disagree with what you say with Rigo, he is the champion, I wish also he could fight in Europe where maybe he can be more appreciated

Rigondeaux is my No.2 favourite boxer after Sergio Martinez !

I know Rigondeaux may lose oneday, and I am ready to witness it, but he is the best boxer I have ever watched ! he portrays perfection in boxing !
