I don't think that's very fair. Salido was definitely a good, top fighter at his peak.

Never one of the Top guys in the sport obviously but he was definitely a top fighter in his day.

You don't know what weight drained means. It's ok. Chad Dawson may have been weakened from losing weight, but he was not weight drained.

Weight drained comes from the days of same day weigh ins when guys didn't have time to put weight back on. You guys hear the phrase, and use it every chance you get, when in fact you don't know what the fuck you are talking about..

Weight drained has nothing to do with putting weight back on. It's when you don't have time to get the weight back on (same day weigh-ins), or your body is so spent that it is unable to properly rehydrate do to extensive dehydration. (De la hoya vs Pac)

All you have to do is look at the fight to see how exhausted he was, proof right there.
He didn't attempt to make weight a 2nd time like people who actually try making weight. He cut his losses, paid a weak fine and quickly got that belly full - obvious to anyone who doesnt have an agenda.

Yeah but same day way ins haven't been in effect in over 30 years. Nowadays when people say it they are referring to killing yourself to make weight and being weakened the night of the fight.

John Scully even uses the term to describe Chad Dawson. I guess he doesn't know what he's talking about either.

No, Ward was just better which made Dawson look worse.

Lomachenko was being overhyped, but take a better look at who Salido has beaten and who the few fighters to beat him in recent memory are. He's a pretty good fighter.

Chad Dawson was completely weight drained. I can't believe people still argue about this.

                    Dawson was weight drained.

Which was his own fault of course.

                      Nah, Ward's just too good.

Ward's so good, that he doesn't even fight with his power on, just for fairness. He turned his power on for that fight, just because.

I mean, he wasn't even landing solid punches and Dawson was falling over. That's power.

Definitely nothing to do with Dawson being drained at a weight he hadn't been at in about 7 years. Most definitely not.
