Salido won but Loma was worried about the pacing the distance it seems.

That and he couldn't stop the relentless forward march forward and the body work.

But on the positive side if he had a minute more in round 12 I think he would knocked Salido out. Which is testament to his own conditioning and toughness which will stand him in good stead. He is mentally tough and nothing really went in his favour pre-fight or even during it. He never pushed the panic button.

I don't know about hypejob - how many people in here honestly don't think he will be a world champion? And based on two real pro fights that makes him one of if not the hottest prospect in the sport.

given ten or twelve fights to get accustomed to the pro game ... a couple of ten rounders etc and he'd probably have done a number on salido, and everybody would still be saying he's great but they wanted to take a risk and grab some headlines and so threw an honestly green fighter (as far as the professional game goes anyway) in with a guy with a lot of experience and perfect gameplan. Lomachenko didn't seem to have a gameplan. He fought like an amateur looking to tap his man up, not putting anything into his shots until the last round. I was expecting him to work from the outside, use his much vaunted speed and technical skills etc instead his jab was almost non existant, and when he did show it it lacked snap, he showed clever footwork at times but not enough of it and seemed content to fight salido's fight. At no point did he ever show these incredible skills he's supposed to have. Initially I felt like he wanted something spectacular ... rather than working his man over he was looking for a flashy counterpunch Ko etc but it never came.

Even allowing for him being thrown in too early I was certainly underwhelmed with his performance. for instance I have no doubt that if Roy Jones jnr's second fight had been against somebody like salido, roy would have done the job. But I guess that's two extremes ... roy's Dad overprotected him and Lomachenko's (or top rank or whatever) under protected him lol.

They are surely regretting it now but hindsight is 20-20

Disappointed in Loma's performance. I thought he would dominate and take Salido out, Orlando wasn't even that good yesterday, he was there for the taking.

Still, for a 2nd pro fight he did quite well, good learning experience for the lad.

No, Loma is not a hype job he was just a tad bit overhyped. He'll be alright, maybe a strong champ. lol @ the poster saying Salido would beat Broner at a buck 30. That just wouldn't happen.

Off topic but I find it hilarious that an obvious Broner fan keeps making threads about "hype jobs".

Broner is one of the biggest hype jobs of our generation.

Broner is the biggest hype job of all time and Salido could beat him any day of the week. PDL easily outboxed that hype.

Which part? The PDL schooling? Or Salido or both? I can understand if you disagree with something that hasn't taken place but to say PDL didn't clearly beat Broner is just straight nuthuggery.
