Ggg is highly unproven on the championship level....he holds a trinket....look at how many world class guys Mayweather, dlh, ward, Dawson, cotto, Lara, amir Khan, Garcia, Bradley have fought at the amount of fights he has....another exciting puncher overrated by his fans....truth is it's put up it shut up time for ggg stop fighting fringe contenders
what has GGG done to deserve a ward fight?

1) Who "deserves" a Ward fight? Name just one fighter at 160 or 168 who does (other than Martinez, who has made it clear that he's not interested in moving up to SMW).
2) Ward is not some kind of cash cow, and opponents aren't exactly lining up to fight him. He is practically begging people way beneath him for a fight (Groves and Chavez Jr.). So he might as well fight GGG if he gets the chance. He needs that fight more than GGG.Comment

Amateur wins mean nothing, because they're amateur wins. Carl Froch got stopped by Peter Manfredo in the AM's because he got badly outclassed lmao, clearly we know who the better pro is.Gee, I wonder? Lets start with
-He has had people talking for a long time with his performances, leading to him becoming a regular headliner on HBO
-Has Amateur wins over Andre Dirrell, Lucian Bute, Andy Lee, etc.
-Has absolutely crushed durable opponents like Macklin, Ishida, Stevens
Ishida is a glorified journeyman, a 154lber at that, his claim to fame was getting a lucky punch on Kirkland. Stevens was getting outclassed and dropped by a guy like Brinkley lol. And Macklin has never been a durable fighter, Martinez came in lethargic and still managed to KO him. Martinez isn't even a power puncher either, he gets his KO's because of his work rate, look at how that crackhead Chavez didn't event get dropped.Comment

To much testosterone on this thread.... Fans being Fans....
This is a unusual post because I've yet to hear the GGG camp asking for this fight.... I've heard Top Rank and HBO posture for this.... I've seen Ward himself talk about this match, down the road.... If they want this fight, then why are you doggin GGG ??? Relax man....
As to the actual fight.... Ward is the proven commodity, we know he can fight... But he is not that big of a draw, and that year plus off due to surgery, hasn't helped.... He holds to much and that interrupts the flow of the fight.... Most fans are casual fans and want instant entertainment, that's knockouts.....
Unless Ward is willing to bounce up to face Kovalev or Adonis, GGG's his most logical challenge.... The problem is GGG is a Middleweight.... Unless Ward is willing to come down ( Which I don't see happening. ) he's going to have to wait.... GGG wants Sergio first, plain and simple.... Ward could try the winner of the Froch fight.... He might have to go to England for a big purse...
GGG has his own thing going.... He doesn't have all these fans for nothing, the dude's from some tiny eastern European country.... He had to earn his fans... Soon he will fight the best the division has to offer.... If he can continue the KO streak, the media will blow it up bigger.... His marketability keeps moving up.... He's a relentless terminator in the ring, and fans love it... I'm a fan of GGG, it's potentially boxing history in the making.... But I like Ward too, it's OK to like both ya know ?
When/if GGG goes up to 168, he'll likely be a much bigger draw than Ward.... So if you are such a big Andre Ward fan then you should realize that GGG is good for Ward's career..... When they dance, it could be epic !!!Comment

This isn't saying a lot considering his competition, to be fair. There are only a few really good fighters at MW and he hasn't fought the other, like, two.
I agree though, he gets good ratings. He's earned this fight because it's something all of the fans would tune in to see. I know I wanna see it.Comment

What has Edwin Rodriguez done to deserve a Ward fight? Golovkin has done enough in raising his stock where he draws huge numbers and he's undefeated. Ward can use a boost in popularity by fighting Golovkin.Comment

Although I believe GGG and his camp has said they'll accept a Ward fight @ 168 now if they'll get an even split (50/50) which Ward won't accept because he believes that being the champ @ 168, he deserves the lion share of the split.
Even if GGG seems to be more popular right now.Comment
