If he is underrated then everyone is just going to vote no and this poll will be useless.

Of course he is underrated. He gets called a c and d fighter daily even though he has been a top5 guys at 140 or 147 for years.

He's a top fighter against the right kind of opposition. Eg hittable opposition.

He's just perfect for skilled defensive boxers, even Khan had him landing at 14% until he got hurt in the tenth and Khans defence is average at best.

He beat Broner yes but Rees and Paulie landed at will against Broner. It was obvious Broner would lose to the first puncher he faced.

So no he's not being underrated in terms of fighting Floyd, he loses every round other than the odd charity round from the judges and never lands anything of note.

Whilst I do not see anybody picking him too win I feel the guy actually gets overrated.

He has proven me wrong in the past I hold my hands up to that but my points still stand.

Crude, flatfooted limited brawler who if it wasn't for him having heavy hands he would be a nobody. A John Murray at best.

Not at all. The guy barely beat a super washed up Corley and Morales and easily beaten by Devon

Also was losing to Josesito before the KO, getting hurt several times and had an even fight with Soto Karass before KOing him as well

He will easily get outbox in really boring fashion

Another poster said, "Maidana is just a smaller version of Canelo."

What people should know is that Marcos Maidana is a bigger puncher than Saul Alvarez and Victor Ortiz, according to Josesito Lopez.

"Out of all those guys, Maidana unquestionably has the hardest single punch." said Lopez, who fought Victor Ortiz, Canelo Alvarez, and Marcos Maidana.

Not only does Maidana hit harder than Canelo and Ortiz, but Chino also throws more punches than those guys -- way more punches.

                Think about that, fellas.

Can a pot shot and clinch stop Maidana? Marcos perfectly embodies a bull; his face kind of resembles one and so does his fighting style.
I just hope you stand by all these things you keep saying and give Floyd alot of credit if he white washes Maidana

This is the guy that Floyd fans will point to and say "Before the fight you were all saying that Maidana will beat Floyd and now are saying that Maidana was a cherry pick"

                  but

the truth is, just like with every fight out there. You will always get these kind of posters that go against the odds and reality .... but the majority gave Maidana very little chance to beat Floyd.

Danny Garcia went life and death with Morales after Maidana, and almost knocked out by a washed up Zab.

                    See what I did there?

The Morales and Corley fights weren't even close.Maidana got hit like usual, beat them both up and won a fairly wide UD in both fights. People fantasize about a couple high moments in those fights and go nuts with it. Especially the Morales fight.Morales fought all of 20 seconds each rd, and had success when he did. Othere then that he didn't do ****.

I'm not even going to get into the clinch fest vs Alexander. Poor showing by Maidana in his first 147 fight. He's clearly learned what to do when being held, and has just became a better, more rounded fighter since getting with Garcia.

The problem is people like you don't know how to judge him because he is awkward, doesn't look pretty when he punches, and puts defense second. That's not a hit on you, because most people are the same way. It's the classic case of an awkward fighter not getting credit. Martinez, while a very different fighter is very awkward and unorthodox in his own right, and people still struggle to give him credit with all he has done.

When a guy who has been consistently in the top 5 for years is being consistently called a d fighter, a bum, there is something wrong there.

                    HE'S CLEARLY UNDERRATED.

Look buddy, let me know who did Maidana beat that makes him who you say he is? All I want is for someone to prove themselves that they are what people like you think of them before giving them that kind of credit. Are we asking too much? I don't think so!

To be clear. This isn't even a knock on Maidana. It's just that he has never beat someone who is even close to that level of a fighter (ie Floyd). So that is why we say the odds are stacked against him.

We get this same talk from Floyd fans (ie. not a cherry pick) and the opponents fans every fight and we ALWAYS prove them wrong. Even Floyd agrees with us .... so that is why it's ridiculous to say that because we have such an opinion, we are haters. It's just the truth!
