It is not like they are holding a gun to Lara's head to take this fight, I would say it would be better for May 3rd even if it is a suspect action fight I would rather have it on the PPV than eating up regular budget.

Lara just needs to bide his time and he will get his chance as long as he keeps winning, he will eventually a best option for a truly quality fighter.
IMO, I hope he takes a fight. Be as active as possible and showcase when you can. Lara should be in the business of building himself up. 2 good televised fights last year.
Sucks that it's against Ishe...but all the other top guys are booked.
I said guerrero, but that's because he fought Quillin. He'd get KO'd in the first three rounds.... almost did against some guy that got out of prison in his last fight

GBP has already put him in with Vanes, Angulo and Trout. He got plenty of opportunities to prove himself. This whole "GBP is mismanaging Lara" thing is BS imo.

Once Mayweather is retired and Showtime are counting all the losses they've made in giving into Haymon and Mayweather's demands/guarantee, all with little inroads in displacing HBO as the premier boxing channel, Espinoza is in big trouble.

And people think Golden Boy would try to make Rigo a star. The **** are they thinking?

And he won, or should have won, all those fights, yet is still being put in **** fights like this while unproven hypejobs get all the soft touches and easy belts.

In this fight Lara just needs to be of the mindset he needs to put on a show. Smith is not that threatening so creating some openings should not be beyond Lara (if he can't that once again brings up the question marks about Lara), although Smith does not open up that much while Lara definitely likes guys who beat themselves or at least do a lot of the work for him in creating openings.

It is not like Lara can't look good against Smith, and really expectation would be so low that if he did solid work on Smith it would be easy to surpass them.

Still chances favor it not providing on action but there are reasons it could be decent.

I think it's because they have LSC and Mares in and around... but after that.....same predicament as Arum.
Then Schaeffer will say the same thing about Lara

And who do you think he should be fighting? Floyd? Everyone from 140 to 160 wants Floyd, so I'm not going to feel sorry for Lara for not getting that fight. Canelo? Canelo will get to him. He can't fight everyone at the same time.

If Ishe-Lara takes place in Vegas, it may not overlap with GGG because of the different time zones.
