What is a more meaningful fight that Lara could take for this time, he could fight Bundrage but that is no different, he could probably fight Molina but I don't know that Lara would prefer that fight to Smith who is more in his wheelhouse I reckon.

I suppose he could go up and fight Quillin but that is another fight he doesn't really seem to want.

I don't like this fight for Lara, unless it's literally the only opponent that is available and a keep-busy fight.

Ishe Smith, although was a title holder, isn't really a reputable name for Lara. Hopefully this lead to bigger fights, but who knows.

I do think, however, it is smart to have him on the undercard. People can't really b1tch are much of a "boring fight" when it's the undercard, as opposed to the main event.

This fight is gonna be a rough one to sit through. Hopefully we can get Lara vs. Kirkland afterwards. I say Kirkland and not Molina because I think Charlo will be picking up Molina's title, and I doubt the Charlo bros are gonna fight Lara since they have the same trainer.

True Smith doesn't do that much for him but is is a top 10 guy or at least on the fringes still and has the valuable former titlist tag.

Quillin would be a better option sure (and it is not like Quillin is over flowing with solid options either) but for whatever reason those fighters don't seem to want it.

Lara should wreck on Smith though, in a match-up of guys who like to box the better one always has a huge advantage and Lara is pretty much just better at boxing than Smith.

There is something to be said for a fight to make someone look good, most people think if Smith as a terrible style match-up, but for Lara I don't find it that bad.

Another snooze fest for Lara. How long before these promoters learn how to match up boring runners like Lara, Rigo and others? All you have to do is look for Angulo type or Kiko Martinez type fighters. Give him Kirkland.
