There was an episode of "Breaking Bad" where the character "Hank" said something along the lines of, "Who do you think you are, 'Macho' Camacho or something?" I found that to be a very interesting reference. I can certainly understand some people from Hector's era getting it, but that's about it. It left me wondering why the writers didn't choose a better-known name.

If PAC & Mayweather had fought in their primes (or probably even now), they would be known by an exponentially larger group of people than they are now.

These days (well in australia anyway) its Ali and Tyson by far. Everyone still knows who they are. Mayweather is fairly well known, Pacquiao to a lesser extent, fair few people know the names of De La Hoya, Holyfield, some older people might know Ray Leonard, but really thats it. then as for locals theres Mundine, Danny Green, And Tszyu, who mostly everyone knows. Mundine and Green have fairly big profiles in Aus, like they are both featured in ads etc

In their days though, Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis deserve a mention. They were big time A-list celebrities who mixed with all the famous names of their day.
