the way i see it if you have roots in one country but was raised in another you are from both places. being born and raised in america doesnt change the fact that his roots are in PR and vice versa.

its up to the individual to decide what he identifies himself as primarily and whatever he chooses people should just accept it. i dont see how anyone could get pissed over something like that or see it as any of their business.

I was born in the usa as were my parents, but both sides of grandparents were born in puerto rico.

Im not Caucasian just because I dont speak spanish, and eating rice and beans wont make me anymore puerto rican.

I consider myself american with Puerto rican roots.

Hell yeah you do (last part). Lol. Thats why "white" people dont claim to be "italian" american because someone from italy would laugh and say "youre american". Likewise for people like russians, etc.

Danny is american from puerto rican descent. That's it.

For f ucks sake Angel barely knows spanish... Angel himself is borderline to puerto ricans from puerto rico IN puerto rico. Danny isnt puerto rican to me, he's american. This is like these "brown" pride tatted up mexicans (or what have you) that dont know a lick of spanish and went to puerto vallarta once...

Danny can rep his roots, nothing wrong there but dude is not going to ever be considered a "real" puerto rican. Especially not with that "spanish"... He's not even newyorican level.

He knows and speaks it pretty well, fluently. It's Danny that doesn't speak it so fluently. And even Danny can get by speaking it, but he has to think about what he wants to say, slow.
