He tries to brawl with Martinez, Martinez's greater chin and power will probably win him that battle. Only way Cotto wins this fight is if he somehow can get inside and smother Martinez without taking too much damage.

"We are waiting to get authorization from Golden Boy Promotions to include Jayson on the big event [being co-promoted by] Top Rank. Miguel has spoken with Oscar de la Hoya and Richard Schaefer, and right now we're just hoping to get authorization [to put him on the show]," said Hector Soto, VP of Miguel Cotto Promotions, to Carlos Narvaez.

Yeah, I am too very happy to see this fight finally done. I hope they give us a good show. I actually respect Cotto even more for taking Martinez at nearly 160 lbs.
But, that catchweight at 159, really? What was Team Cotto thinking? It just doesn´t make sense! Many people are going to blame Cotto for that and that ridiculous 1 pound catchweight doesn´t give him any real advantage.Last edited by Stark777; 02-20-2014, 04:58 PM.

You really think Pacquaio and Mayweather could hurt Martinez? I think it is pretty clear Martinez has a better chin than Cotto.

It will be interesting to see how Martinez and Cotto take each others' punches. I don't think Cotto has ever faced a puncher like Martinez.
