Always puzzles me this idea that there's some kind of vast qualitative gap between 160 and the surrounding divisions. It lacks the Marquee names of 154 (substantially cos Floyd and Manny have both fought and won at JMW) and SMW - (largely cos of Ward, Froch and the super six). It also suffers from a dearth of US fighters at the top level and a multitude of promotions - meaning the fighters (and fights) often don't get the same level of exposure.
In actuality however, how many cross-over fights have we seen to compare how say the top 10s in each division match up?
Structurally it's similar to most other divisions, with one or perhaps two clear frontrunners, then a following pack who'll sometimes win, sometimes lose against each other.
I don't understand quite where this perception that MW is actually a demonstrably weaker division comes from. It certainly wasn't seen that way in 2012 when Chavez jr was the up and coming superstar and Maravilla P4P #2 or 3, or in mid 2013 when threads were started on this and other forums discussing which were the weakest divisions.
How do we know 160 is a weak division then? And how much weaker is it?
Does a top 10 JMW beat a top 5 MW? Does every top 5 JMW beat every top 5 MW - how does it work?
This is a genuine question BTW - I'm not just trying to somehow add weight to GGGs resume, which would remain devoid of top-flight names anyway.

... but he won't cause of course that would be far too consistent and logical
