Comments Thread For: Geale: Golovkin Needs an Opponent Like Me To Be Elite

Golovkin has an April date that Geale turned down just 3 weeks or a month ago. Geale turned him down twice this year already. This "call out" is nothing but talk.I agree, unless GGG turns down a fight with Geale, because unlike many guys in the division and contrary to what many on this forum believe, Geale has himself called out the guy who was supposedly never called out. Mora is another guy who has shown an interest in the fight. Both are better than the likes of Adamu or stevens, so now the question remains, who will GGG fight next? GGG doesn't seemed to have a date booked and I'm sure Geale would be up for an April/May showdown. So let's make this happenComment

Which is exactly what you do to Floyd opponents..hmmm ironic.
With that being said Geale is a legit name on GGG's resume. Make it happen!Comment

His reasons were that it would not be shown in Australia, a fight like this probably garners larger viewership in Ausland than it does in the US. So he was right to turn it down. Now he is the one calling out GGG and the so called most feared MW has no fight date set, surely this is a fight that can and should be made. Also let's not forget that HBO turned down a Geale fight last year.
Btw, I hope you don't misread me, I'm not saying either fighter is ducking the other...yet.Comment

According to boxrec, he has no date set in stone. GGG could easily extend it by a month. It's not as if he's on PPV and is fighting one of the biggest names in the sport in April. If GGG settles for a top 50 MW yet again, rather than wait 3 or 4 weeks for a better name, then it's no ones' fault but his own.Comment

Yes he does, he doesn't have a finalized opponent yet. The date was reserved by K2 and Loeffler in Early January. And if Boxrec was reliable, he would've fought Murray in Feb.According to boxrec, he has no date set in stone. GGG could easily extend it by a month. And what's with this wave of the hand change the date thing?
Easily?
May is stuffed with the high profile fights....Mayweather PPV for Showtime then HBO has the big one with Marquez (who's manager already reserved the date and venue) and May 30 with Donaire/V12.
Even June is looking iffy with another PPV early and Mikey Garcia back on the 17th..... and that's too late because he's trying to fight again by July.
Are we really blaming him for the date again?
So wanting HBO and then wanting HBO and a free date for country PPV are reasonable reasons why the fight can't happen.... but not being able to change the date of the fight at the drop of a hat with other events already surrounding it is unreasonable?Comment
