I don't see why GGG couldn't fight Ward, and then fight Martinez if he beats Cotto. And that's not exclusive to Ward. He could fight a guy like Sakio Bika for his belt at 68. Personally, I think him holding a belt at 68, whether it be Ward's lineal strap or Bika's paper one makes him a more attractive opponent for Martinez. If Martinez has the option of fighting him for a title at 68. I'd think that's a lot more attractive. Because should he lose, he's still the man at 60. From GGG's POV, does it really matter if its at 60 or 68? And should GGG lose at 68, it affects nothing at 60 and he's STILL the #1 threat to the Martinez-Cotto winner.
As for GGG being the target for the Marty-Cotto winner, I doubt it. If Canelo beats Angulo, I think the Marty-Cotto winner targets him over GGG.
