Because GGG seems like a quiet/humble guy and when people talk negative about him it's kind of shocking. Most people don't just question his resume, they say he's ducking so and so and should move up in weight. I'm still waiting for someone to say he's boring and they don't like that aggressive/relentless style of his.

In boxing it's all about "what have you done lately" and lately GGG is the one making noise and ko'ing his opponents while ward is doing more commentating than fighting. Now ward is an excellent fighter but he's far from a start himself. GGG has a bigger following and is the bigger draw at the moment.

You know that if it was all about beating the best, fighters would challenge themselves all the time and we wouldn't be using words like "cherry picking" "ducking". And Dany Garcia and Stevens aren't stars lol. If you call them "stars", then GGG is a mega star since he has higher ratings lol
No....Stevens and Swift are bigger stars because they stopped the main man in their weight classes.....Golovkin is popping right now for other reasons than the one that really matters!!!....Swift fought arguably the most anticipated fight of 2013 against a real fighter like Matthysse on the undercard of the biggest selling PPV.....but Golovkin is more of a star?!?

Wilder and Kirkland are more exciting fighters than GGG, are they stars as well or do you need tv ratings to tell you the answer?!?....people love aggressive knock out hunters right?!?....so what's stopping the same supporters of GGG from showing the same support to Wilder and Kirkland?!?.....or is it something else?!?.....school me Einstein since you know the answers I don't....enlighten me, but remember, if you decide to try to shed someone light, you must be able to endure burning.....so brighten this thread up with some real talk!!

For me, a fighter's personality has nothing to do with how I rate them as a fighter. I consider Floyd the best in the world. But from the persona he puts out for the public. I'd probably be around him about five minutes before a misunderstanding would take place. On the otherhand, Cotto seems like a very cool, and personable guy. And I generally feel that he's a lil overrated by most fight fans. Or at least he was at the height of his career. To me, one has nothing to do with the other.

As for GGG's style. Personally, he is boring to me. And that's because I'm unable to generate any personal excitement heading into his fights against what I know are completely overmatched opponents. I was locked up at the time and didn't see it live. But I was much more excited about Rigondeaux-Donaire than I've been about any of GGG's fights. I was a lot more excited about Ward-Dawson than I have ever been about GGG's fights. I'm sorry, and call me a hater if you want. But there's nothing exciting to me about watching GGG steamroll tomato cans. Part of excitement for me is anticipation. And the only two GGG fights I've had any time of anticipation for is Proska and Macklin. Sorry.

Tbh, I think both Ward and GGG are the real deal. GGG has awesome power and Ward's style seems difficult to overcome. I just think weight classes exist for a reason and if either one moves up, it gets dangerous. GGG is ten times more fun to watch though

There is no super middle at the olympics guy. So he fought at light heavyweight

Ward's win over Rodriguez is better than GGG's entire resume
