Well that's the difference between you and I son. I don't care what they say or do outta the ring. Because I don't know any of them outta the ring. All I see is a 32yr old decorated amateur that's having his balls massaged for beating up bums for a decade. And a 23yr old that came outta nowhere, talked ****, but in the ring at least tried to backup his claims. That's all I see and care about.

Is it? GGG either loses and becomes for the casual fan who doesn't understand just what a big challenge he faced, just another Jeff Lacy, or wins and suddenly has no-one credible to face except the very elite at SMW or moving up to LHW.

I'm anticipating he has perhaps 15 - 20 fights left in him, and neither of the above sounds like a good option to me, much as I'd love to see a GGG - Ward fight this year.

GGGs team are pacing him and with justification - I'd love a Bika fight say, but the moment he got a SMW belt any fight at 160 (outside perhaps Maravilla) becomes irrelevent - we're all aware of the trap Ward has fallen into since dominating the super 6 - in essence his career has stagnated.

Unfortunately, there just ain't masses of big money fights out there, which leaves fighters in the ridiculous situation that too much success, too quickly can actually harm their long term careers.

The casual fan argument doesn't hold water with me because the average casual fan doesn't know who GGG is. But my definition of casueal fan may be different than your's.

everybody knows why he won't take any risks now is because his Martinez shot is coming up, everything has been building to that fight at the end of the year.

Right, so HBO/K2 will keep feeding Golovkin TOMATO CAN after TOMATO CAN until they can get Martinez in the right - which probably wont happen until 2015. Three more fights for Golovkin in 2014 = three more TOMATO CANs.

The fanboyism in this thread is ridiculous. Ward has nothing to be jealous of when it comes to GGG. GGG may have more fans than him, but Ward is much, MUCH more proven against better opponents. And on top of that, Ward is younger than GGG. And if they ever fight, I think Ward would win by wide UD.

Ward, I'm sure, is feeling a little jealous - he should be - don't use "his record" as some type of argument, all that does is pacify his ego. As a viewer, HBO sports and all of it's analysts really feel that GGG is probably a more marketable guy than many others (especially) with there diminishing pool to attract viewers. Pushing budgeting dollars to have him fight on T.V is probably in their agenda right behind Ward and others. Ward as a "part-time" employee will most likely here the questions and is probably feeling some type of way. IMO, Ward should just let the man grow and let him eat - if he's feeling a way then maybe he should take a stand against HBO sports and boycott his earnings and head up another network. Biggity Bounce SON!!!!!
