RESPONSE: I didn't know that guys like Martinez were Top Rank ....
2) Floyd put a condition to fight Margarito or else no fight.
Remember when Canelo asked for a condition and how everyone reacted and said Floyd is right, "who asks for conditions, win your fight first with Trout and then Canelo can discuss with Floyd the possibility for a fight"
3) Floyd overpriced himself ....
a) Imagine if Arum agreed and if Floyd loses his first fight in his contract? Arum is then stuck with his guarantees and Floyd back then would have been worth a lot less since he was still trying to build himself (ie. not a big PPV star at the time)
b) Did Floyd intentionally overprice himself knowing full well that he wouldn't need to fight someone like Margarito? Remember that the Margarito fight was still available but Floyd decided to take Baldomir instead.
4) Cotto left Arum
a) Did Arum say the same about Cotto after he left Arum?
b) Cotto came back and fought with Arum fighters after that. See, Floyd could have done the same so you can't blame Arum!
c) Floyd could have done a 1 fight deal back then with Margarito like Cotto. So the only person to blame for not getting that fight on was Floyd not Arum!
5) Margarito's availability
a) Floyd dragged his feet and made his excuses about his injuries. Now let's say it's for real, Margarito didn't fight all that time and waited to get the Floyd fight all the way until Floyd picked Baldomir.
b) More importantly, Arum didn't get Margarito any fights with the hopes of getting him the Floyd fight. THINK ABOUT THAT REALLY HARD!!!
6) Floyd will fight the BEST AVAILABLE OPTION or Floyd fights the best
Really? Should I name all the times that Floyd didn't do that?
7) Floyd "MONEY" Mayweather
So this article discussed money at length as an excuse as to why Floyd didn't take the fight. Again, there are the points made above but more importantly is that there is a ton more money to have been made with Manny Pacquiao yet Floyd didn't take the fight and used not one but many roadblocks to avoid that fight.
All this and other excuses point to one thing. Floyd is to blame and Floyd fans like Larryxxx try to use Arum as their scapegoat but the facts are that Arum didn't tell Floyd to take several vacations/retirements, nor to say NO PPV MONEY for Manny or the PEDS testing or the PEDS ACCUSATIONS or can't fight Manny unless he leaves Arum knowing full well that it would mean stalling the fight for another 1.5+ years!!!
Arum didn't say not to fight Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams,....
Arum is not that powerful!
All risky fights, Floyd manages to avoid. Proof enough for me considering that Floyd is his own boss!Comment
