floyd ducking people is nothing but a myth that got out of hand. people ask him to fight someone, he does and once he beats them people pretend they never wanted that fight in the first place.

just look at his last fight, it was common knowledge he was terrified of alvarez and would never contemplate getting in the ring with him. once the contract is signed he was cherry picking him.

people say he ducked guys who in reality turned him down, other times he ducked people who nobody was asking for him to fight. once its too late people pretend they were on a collision course and floyd avoided just about anyone he hasnt fought. even when he fight people they complain it was too late, despite the fact that in all those cases floyd had been trying to make those fights for years.

some people just arent men enough to give credit when credits due. i dont like floyd myself but i still recognize what he has achieved inside the ring, there is no way any reasonable person who knows their boxing can say floyd is a ducker.

By Roberto Elmore: After Manny Pacquiao made easy work of Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito, the howls of “Floyd ducked both of these fighters” reemerged. Many of these claims have been opinionated and have not yet seen proof of these allegations. I did write an article stating that Mayweather side stepping Margarito was a good move. And financially it was back then.

But upon my return to the article, I found facts that will support this article. Now, I know there will still be many who will contest these facts and continue with their barrage of name calling. But it’s not my job to control opinions; just give the facts and let the readers decide. But I want you to pay close attention to the quotes and who’s saying what.
After Mayweather defeated Zab Judah, he was offered 8 million to fight Antonio Margarito on August 12th 2006. Leonard Ellerbe had this to say after the Judah fight.
Floyd is not 100 percent healthy,” Ellerbe said. “He has a bruised right hand. His hand is not broken. It’s bruised, but it’s a bad bruise. He wants to go into any fight 100 percent healthy. If Antonio Margarito happens to be the best available option when he is healthy, so be it”.

“We are not turning down Margarito. I want to make that crystal clear. When and if he is the best available option for Floyd’s next fight, that’s the direction he will move in.” If you noticed, that was Ellerbe speaking. Not Floyd. Let’s move on.

Bob Arum, Mayweather’s promoter at the time said that Mayweather preferred to await the outcome of the May 6 Oscar De La Hoya-Ricardo Mayorga fight instead of committing to Margarito because he would prefer to fight De La Hoya.

Arum stated that Mayweather would have fought Margarito for the 8 million, but he wanted a guaranteed 10 million to fight Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton. Arum only guaranteed him 7 million. And for those who don’t know Cotto and Hatton were at the Mayweather-Gatti fight and Cotto was ranked number 5 by the ring at the time (Proof: Listen to the commentary Jim Lampley at the end of round 5) . Cotto had just moved up to the 140 pound weight class and he didn’t make an offer to fight Mayweather after the Gatti fight.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn’t interested in participating in. “That’s not in the cards,” Arum said. “He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It’s not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. We’ll talk about things down the road.” Notice this part Arum was talking.

before the Top Rank split please name who he was accused of ducking.....since he left top rank it is only Top Rank fighters who he is accused of ducking..before he left Top Rank Arum said this about Floyd

I said all along. Floyd Margarito is one of the biggest ducks of all-time.

He admitted in a recent video about how his team selects his opponents that we wants easy fights, clearly he is a ducker and always takes the easiest fight for the most amount of money as opposed to the best fighters available which for him he could choose anyone.

Its too bad boxing is really a big money making scam and not organized like a real sport.

Then explain to me why Floyd didn't accept Martinez' offer of a fight at 150.

It can't be because of the weight, as 150 is closer to 147 than 154. Besides, he's fought at higher weights 3 times now.

It can't be because of Martinez' lack of a fan base, as Floyd is currently considering fighting Maidana, and the same Argentinians that will support him would probably have supported Martinez.

It can't be because of Bob Arum, as Martinez doesn't fight for him.

It can't be because of money, as Martinez was offering an 80/20 split in Floyd's favour.

It can't be because Floyd had a better fight lined up, as his next fight was against Guerrero.

It can't be because Floyd wouldn't get credit for the win due to Martinez being old or drained, as Mayweather fought a 38-year-old Mosley and a drained Canelo.

It can't be because Floyd had to fight his mandatory, Guerrero, as he doesn't care about mandatories or belts ("All belts do is collect dust"). He's recently come out and said he's willing to give the belt to Pacquiao to avoid fighting him.

I'll admit that after he beat his wife and left her for dead he became a little more risky.

"Manny Pacquiao, easy money, easy fight, probably easier than the Marquez fight" "hes just an ordinary, one dimensional midget"

                    "I'm afraid for my health"

                    He invented it himself.
