Actually, I'm pretty sure he's best known for knocking the fark out of an ATG, not losing closely to him.

Tarver and Marquez aren't in the same league. Marquez is a HOF lock and second tier ATG. Tarver....it's arguable whether he's a HOFer at all.

4 division titlist, 16 champions beaten, top five P4Per for a decade. Lots of good wins over excellent champions as well as beating a couple of ATGs. That's an ATG unless we're talking about the true ATGs like Robinson, Duran, Ali, Leonard etc. Obviously he's not in that league.

Is this guy for real or what? Even in today's watered down era marquez is very easily an ATG and better than Morales and Barrera who get so much credit. So any of you consider Cotto an ATG yet Marquez is only better.

He arguably slayed the dragon Chris John but the battle was in his dungeon so "the dungeon always wins" but i think Marquez slayed him.

Most of your fav fiters wont be even able to point out so many elite names on their resumes. Also world champion in multiple classes and he beat some solid names in lower weights who werent stars but there to win and give it all. No not Likar Ramos

Marquez doesn't get enough credit for his Lightweight reign (Diaz, Casa, and Kats). With the exception of Nate Campbell, he wiped that division out (knocking them all out I may add). Not a lot of fighters can say they had a division on lock today. Who besides Ward currently?
