Because the U.S recognized nobody wanted to watch it. Don't know WTF those other 145 countries were thinking. Tossing money in a hobo can.

let's hear what golovkin himself has to say before we start jumping to conclusions. also if the promotional 'cold war' prevents the fight from happening then golovkin can't really do anything about that, can he?

Styles make fights.....I like how Lara's style matches against Triple G.....Lara is not one of those hitting bags, he has a very responsible defense imo.....interesting fight imo
This may be part of the reason..

Some stuff in there about GGG sparring Perro, bear in mind that Perro actually comes to the ring heavier than GGG.

Lara does claim there was some shady going on in the Perro fight however, so possibly he wasn't at his best.

It's nearly been a week since Cuba's Erislandy Lara defeated Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo in Carson, California; when Angulo refused to continue in the tenth round. Now the new WBA interim super welterweight world champion talks to BoxingScene.com about some of the things that happened before and after the fight with Angulo. "First, I want to explain that a person came to us and told us clearly that on fight night I couldn't get into the ring with more than 10 pounds over the weight limit of our division. For that reason, we only went up to the limit of 164 pounds, but we were surprised that Angulo weighed 174 pounds that night, indicating to us that the 10 pounds limit was only for Erislandy Lara. We had no written clause to talk about this weight limit, but they told us that and we followed this instruction," Lara said.

I like this fight - Lara fights close to GGG in weight anyway, and it's a good styles matchup, but I see little chance of it happening.

Bojangles-why is it that posters take a reasoned approach like this to discussing whether GGG can enteratin fighting Lara but those same posters acted like childish idiots who lacked common sense when the subject was GGG fighting another showtime fighter?

Nahhh.... news broke on twitter last night.
Network wars isn't preventing this fight
I believe everybody is acting appropriately in saying Golovkin is ducking.

                  DDD's willing to fi..duck anyone from 154 - 168.

Guy's got more duck than Gressington.

He just needs banning from the sport for blatant tweet ducking IMO. Guy needs to man up and call some guys out on twitter.
