Floyd moved up to 154 to fight the biggest draws in the sport: guys like De La Hoya, Cotto and Canelo. That only shows he has the balls to do it when it makes the most sense. He isn't a 154lb fighter. At all. Floyd is a medium sized, at best, welterweight. He doesn't need to fight every fighter at 154 that would "make a good fight," he never would have moved to that division if it weren't for the absolute biggest fights.
Ask yourself this: If you were honestly Floyd's manager or trainer, would you tell him to take any interesting fight at 154? The answer is no. It isn't the smart move. Same reason Triple G isn't fighting Ward until it makes sense, and Ward isn't fighting at 175 until it makes sense. Boxing has weight classes for a reason, and Floyd ain't a big WW. Unless it's THE biggest fight to be made, there is no reason to go to 154.

Hell yeah. I like the sound of GGG Lara, it'd be @160 I guess, but Lara doesn't give up much weight to Golovkin in the ring anyway.

Sadly Golden Boys can't be Good Boys however.

Not a great fighter but he is good. He will not be another Canelo because he can hit and not get hit. He can move, has some speed and solid boxing skills. He never came up the easy way. He's fought and beat Trout, Angulo, Paul Williams and was on his way to beating Vanes as well as a close fight with Carlos Molina. On top of that being a southpaw may give Floyd problems

Also Lara vs Floyd is better than Floyd Khan or Floyd Maidana

Pretty much. Maybe if they fight in Monaco. HBO aren't involved. It's just K2 and GBP.

Lara is one of four active fighters I'd pick to give Floyd a very, very hard time.

People who keep saying things like 'yeah but Angulo caused him problems' don't understand the concept of 'styles make fights'. Learn boxing.

Lara's straight left is one of the best in boxing, a good straight left can breach Floyd's shoulder roll from time to time. He's also not flat-footed and slow like a lot of Floyd's recent opponents, so Floyd's gonna be up against something he hasn't dealt with in a while.

Regarding Lara's resume @154, if we're being objective here:

              Trout
              Angulo
              *Williams

                1. He's Floyd's mandatory

                2. He's 10x better then Khan or Maidana

                3. His southpaw stance will give Floyd fits

Only rounds Lara clearly won, was towards the end before the cut. I don't know where you get this stuff from.
Well, silly me, I tend to give rounds to guys who actually land punches. That does seem to be a point of argument somehow on this site, where people want to avoid giving rounds to people who land all the punches because the other guy was "pressing the fight" or "had better ring generalship."

                    Lara struggled with Hernandez?

                    • Don't even need Lara, Rigo in a real match would run rings around Floyd. It's the style. Floyd has been fed chicken feed all up to this time.
