Yet outclassed with ease the same guy who Canelo barely sc****d by. Id like to see Lara vs Canelo.... if Canelo can even get past Angulo that is. The points I would get if that happens.

Hes just the next best thing at 154 who doesnt have a recent loss.

Remember when Trout beat cotto less convincingly than Floyd did and all of a sudden he was the greatest thing at 154 and Floyd was ducking him? Then trout was thoroughly outboxed by Canelo.... and everyone said Floyd was afraid of Canelo and would never fight him.... Floyd shuts out Canelo 12-0 and now next best thing at 154 is Lara. But Lara really isnt all that great, hes just next best without a recent loss. Floyd beats him easy.

He isn't a 154lb fighter. At all. Floyd is a medium sized, at best, welterweight. He doesn't need to fight every fighter at 154 that would "make a good fight," he never would have moved to that division if it weren't for the absolute biggest fights.
Ask yourself this: If you were honestly Floyd's manager or trainer, would you tell him to take any interesting fight at 154? The answer is no. It isn't the smart move. Same reason Triple G isn't fighting Ward until it makes sense, and Ward isn't fighting at 175 until it makes sense. Boxing has weight classes for a reason, and Floyd ain't a big WW. Unless it's THE biggest fight to be made, there is no reason to go to 154.

Hes not even a medium size welterweight. He gains about 3 pounds after the weigh in. What is the average weight that most welterweights put on after weighin in? Most come in 155-160. Floyd is a small welterweight, thats indisputable but dont worry there will be plenty of idiots to ignore blatant facts.

Plenty of people asked for Trout/Mayweather there was also numerous threads about how Canelo would "duck" Trout the number one guy at 54.

Would he beat Mayweather? Probably not, it's hard to imagine anyone beating Mayweather in battle of distance and timing. But Lara poses a more interesting challenge than almost anyone else at 147 or 154.

Because he has fast feet, and technical ability.
