Why do some posters keep saying Floyd should fight GGG or Martinez at 154?

It's because Floyd's skill level is so superior to his counterparts that a weight disparity will bridge the gap of ability.

Canelo was I think 171 or 172 in the ring against Trout and then 165 against Mayweather. Martinez and Golovkin are about 168-172 in the ring. If Floyd was willing to fight Canelo then why not Martinez or Golovkin if you could make sure they were not higher than about 165 in the ring? The answer is of course that Martinez and Golovkin have a better chance of beating him than Canelo. Mayweather could also put on a little more weight and fight them for the middleweight crown, risky but would be a great achievement to pull off.

Dawson said he would and did come down to 168 to fight Ward. Ask Andre how much credit people are giving him for that win.

Everyone knows that man, however there are weight classes for a reason. Tell that to Chad Dawson, he made the 168lb limit but he was no super middleweight.

I think it appeals to every level of fan on NSB.

For boxing fans like us-it would be a matchup of very gifted fighters that would surely entertain. floyd wins-he solidifies himself as the best and shuts up a ton of posters. Floyd loses-sergio or ggg have a massive faether in their cap and worldwide status as the guy who beat the best.

For the floyd haters/manny fans/ race guys/klit lovers/ggg stans/-if floyd loses-they can celebrate and if floyd wins-well they can criticize him for not fighting either guy at his "real weight" or say either was "drained" and therfore it doesn't count.

                its a win-win.

Everyone says Chavez is a cruiserweight, he fought successfully at middleweight for years.

Picking out an example where going down in weight didn't work doesn't mean it's not going to work every time.

If Floyd really wants to be ranked as one of the GOATS in the game, he should then talk to Andre Ward and fight him at a catch weight to see whose 0 will go. Imagine if Floyd vs. Ward at 160 for non-title belt just to see who wins and Floyd whips dat ass, there can't be no denying Floyd will be one of the best that has EVER put on a pair of gloves...IMO

Chavez has been using diuretics so your point is null, besides Chavez was a growing boy and was a career middleweight.

How about YOU tell me an example where a guy makes a career at a certain weight and after years he goes down and fights successfully at a lower weight?
