This would have been a good fight... GGG still wins. If Kelly is on the drank though it'd be tough to watch. Pavlik/Martinez would be just the first round of a GGG/Pavlik fight at this point.

      I agree with The Ghost.
Pavlik couldn't even hurt Martinez. He feasted on weak competition who was much smaller than himself and it still took him rounds to stop them.

Really tough fight to pick. I can see both winning.

Are you really going to try to say Pavlik couldn't punch?

They both hit hard, but I'd say GGG is more powerful. Common opponent Rubio. Pavlik stopped Rubio in 9, GGG stopped him 2.

Pavlik had a good chin but perhaps a bit overrated. Was knocked down and hurt by Taylor, Taylor ran out of steam. A lot of people like to forget this, but in the rematch the fight was actually really close. Pavlik didn't whoop him, didn't really hurt him besides a body shot late in the fight if my memory serves me correct.

Good fight though, all action drama fight. GGG by late stoppage, or if Pavliks chin isn't overrated then GGG UD (probably 8-4 something like that).

Where did I say that? I was responding to what Pavlik said, which was reiterated by the poster I quoted, which came down to Pavlik saying GGG had no power. Pavlik could punch, but most of his knockouts came when he fought opponents either much smaller than himself and on the weaker side of the competitive ladder, and even the best of that level made Pavlik take it into the later rounds.

I should clarify,I think Kelly punches harder than GGG. By no means I'm I saying GGG cannot punch. He is obviously a very very hard puncher.
That wasn't a legit KD. Martinez was off balance and went down. Pavlik never hurt him. Pavlik could punch but he's not quite the puncher GGG is. They both have sort of a wear you down/clubbing type punch, but GGG is more explosive with it and is better at landing it.

Pavlik beating GGG, LOL! Amazing how beating Jermain Taylor, who was a good fighter but never anything special takes Pavlik so high in the ratings. Of course Golovkin still has to finish off Canelo but assuming he does this isn't even close. Golovkin is more polished and Pavlik's style is perfect for Golovkin.

Will be a good fight, Kelly Pavlik in my opinion my have just possessed more punching power! But punching selection/variation was alittle more less versatile than Gennady Golovkin's! (During the second Jermaine Taylor fight, Pavlik was bothered by body shots! so to conclude? I believe Golovkin will win via TKO due to body shots, but he would have to get up off the Canvas at some point in the fight to win!)....

GGG wins this fairly easy, he'd have broke Pavlik down. Pavlik was a good fighter but even at his best he doesn't have the heart to stand a war with GGG.
