I honestly don't know. Pavlik was a better boxer than given credit for and hit equally hard. Goddamn this would be a great fight.

No, GGG doesn't have losses to Judah and Alexander. As for the topic, I'm going to go with GGG, someone said Pavlik had an iron chin but he was dropped twice against Taylor so that point is moot. Pavlik certainly had the style to trouble GGG with that range and power but GGG is a special type of fighter and Pavlik was just a good one.

EDIT: Going through the thread I've officially come to reaize that because GGG isn't black he is overrated and average, good to know.

So Cotto never being dropped by Mosley or Martinez means he has a granite chin too? Pavlik was hurt both times he got hit by Taylor, GGG would do AT LEAST the same.

Taylor hit pretty hard too. And he hit Pavlik more than twice -- Pavlik took his punches pretty well after the second round in their first fight and he walked through his punches in the rematch. I wouldn't say Pavlik's chin was iron but it was tested.

Pavlik was hurt by a perfectly placed shot on the temple, and was down once that fight. After that shot he immediately recovered and went on to stop JT.

Pavlik ate Miranda's punches without a problem and was answering back with hard shots of his own. And as I said before when you hold your ground against GGG he is a very average fighter, just watch his fight with Ouma or even Stevens. The difference is Pavlik has more power than both guys, 10x better chin, MUCH stronger, and is a proven world class fighter.

Pavlik only has trouble with slick boxers that can move, GGG isn't that guy.

He was only dropped in the 1st fight, the 2nd fight was more of a tactical boxing match, I think the only guy that got hurt was JT that fight.

The GGG we've seen against Geale, Macklin, etc. will not be the same GGG that is fighting a physically strong power puncher that can eat his punches (something I don't think even exists in this current MW division) .

GGG knows he can hurt these guys, he knows he can take their punches, he knows he can back them down and hurt them and fights like it. His flaws won't show unless he fights a bigger man at SMW.

Stevens was able to have a bit of success when he realized GGG's flaws, Ouma as well. GGG is elite when backing guys down, average when they hold their ground. If it comes down to a brawl I'm picking Pavlik, a guy that has shown numerous times throughout his career that he can eat punches against world class fighters.

Ggg isnt gonna be able to push him back. Pavlik can be outboxed but he was never outfought
We havent seen ggg deal with certain things yet. Wouldve been a great fight
