I'm not a trainer or nutritionist, but I don't think that the Cotto-Pacquiao situation and this one are the same. I don't think Cotto was severely affected by the 145 catchweight by itself, I think it was more a case that Cotto could not make 147 anymore and he was already headed to 154. If you see it like that, it's not that he was 2 pounds under his ideal weight, but more. Add to that the fact that Cotto did not have a real trainer and the case gets worse.

This 159 catchweight seems pretty useless and Martínez is a natural jr. middleweight anyway. He has said that he could hit 154 if he wanted to. If anything, a rehydration limit clause might have been worse for Martínez. I don't think this is anything but a power play from Cotto.

            you're not this ******, i know you're not.

what the hell are you saying about fantasy, you know that the fights DID happen, i know you did, and you watched them and could plainly deduce that both victors won on their talent and business dealings.

            walk away, boy.
I tried giving this post a chance, but honestly i've not changed my stance at all. Catchweights tarnish fights ... you can only give credit for a win at a catchweight, not a fantasy win at the full limit. Anything else is opinion...

At no point did I say they deserve no credit at all. Just less than what they should have gotten at the full limits.

I won't go for the obvious, what most people do, and try end my post with some sort of put-down..

There was no need for this. Sergio will make Cotto pay for his transgressions.

                      Shtty move if real.

Where is Cotto number one fan at? He should be all over Cotto's shtty move. Now that he cant say sht about Cotto fighting an unknown, he needs to pick on something. He is not giving Cotto credit for this.
