GGG fighting Andy Lee at this point in their careers is disgraceful. You know this. Lets hope it doesn't get made.

Like Marquez destroyed Manny even though Pac was winning the fight, right?

Lee was stopped in a competitive fight.

      I don't agree, he's a top 10 MW. It's not the ideal fight, but it's a passable one.

Lee is a contender; he had a lot of early success in his career under the tutelage of Manny Steward. I remember Manny really hyping Lee as the next great MW but unfortunately for Andy, things didn't work out that way.

Having said that, I don't mind Golovkin facing Lee for a 'stay busy' fight. It's remarkable actually, that Golovkin is fighting very frequently for a high profile guy like himself. A lot of fighters gain some recognition, only to sit on the sidelines looking/waiting for a big fight to materialize - Golovkin obviously isn't taking that approach, and I respect him for it.

In other words, I'd rather see Golovkin stay busy fighting B-level opponents than sitting on the sidelines with his thumb up his a$$ waiting for high profile fight to materialize e.g. Andre Ward

they're samrt to keep golovkin active. with his style and age, he won't fight forever.

Golovkin is not taking a lot of punishment in his fights - his style has enabled that. His style does not lend him to a shorter career as you implied. Unless, he starts getting into 'wars' then he seems like he has years to come, so long as he's still dominant

he didn't take a ton of shots against adama or ishida, but rosado, stevens, even proksa hit him with some of the best stuff they had. so did ouma. he has a good chin. those punches that stevens hit him with especially hurt a lot of middleweights.

he takes punches when he comes forward. he's already in his 30's. his style is certainly less inclined for a long career than a boxer. as me moves up in weight, he'll be fighting guys who hit him harder and have longer lasting chins.

mod don't even know when punches are landing . boxing styles lend themselves to long careers, and pressure styles usually don't. it's time for that resignation, bro. you've seen too many winters. go shovel some snow.

What I've seen in Golovkin's last couple fights (Stevens, Macklin) is a guy who fights with effective and smart aggression. He's not reckless, he doesn't get hit a lot and when he does it's not cleanly. I could be wrong though; I'll rewatch those fights but my first impression is that Golovkin has a pretty sturdy defense.

This will be one of the bigger miss matches this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Golovkin knocked out Lee in the first round.

That's a head scratcher, to me.

I had Chavez winning comfortably and he's the draw so I have no idea what the judges were watching.

And Chavez truley did pummel Lee and beat him up badly.
