Shady decision in the first fight, beat him in the second fight.
Research Louis' opponents and you will see that they aren't what they're made out to be by his oldschool fanboys.

      Your argument sucks, next?
"just beaten Mike Tyson".. Wasn't it 3 years before?

Holyfield was a good 6-8 years past his prime for the Lennox Lewis fights.

Is this serious? Golota didn't care about the sport anymore and quit, as he did against Grant. And who the fck is Vaughn Bean?

I meant I as in the first bout. Louis def. took the second win.

These lists are always open to debate. Lewis's resume is decent, and he fought all-comers, so that, for me, places him reasonably high on a list. If, however, you view these lists as solely based on names on a resume, he is further down. And, if you see them as H2H fantasy match-ups, he is ranked higher.

I feel bad for Wlad & Vitali in these debates ten years from now...

Of course they are open. But if you look at the fighters in their prime, what they achieved and their overall skills - which is always what I go after - Louis ranks way higher.

I will agree that Lewis was the more skillful fighter.

However, Louis destroyed his division as the single reigning champ for how many years? Lewis was the champ for 3,5 years. His resume is a good one. I agree. But everything put together I think Joe Louis clearly ranks higher. Louis' best wins are better than Lewis' best wins and as a fighter he gets points from me for going after the kill. Lewis was safety first in the prime of his career.

I don't even know why the guy would mention Grant and Morrison in the conversation of Lewis' best wins.

Wlad will get his fair dues for the champ he is/was. Vitali will be remembered for what he was as well, a belt holder who fought below par opposition for the majority of his career.

says the guy who mentioned Michael Grant and Tommy Morrison as some of Lewis' best wins.

Joe Louis' best wins are undeniably better than Lewis'.
