yes he is...where he ranks is something often up for debate, within my own head sometimes. I have had him around the top 6 most of the times, Ali, Foreman and Louis are probably the clear favourites ahead of him. Arguments can be made for Holmes and Frazier possibly being ranked higher. But Lewis is right up there as the best.

You're making me criticize one of my favourite fighters now. I can't believe it.

Why don't you tell me what LLs best wins are? and how they match to Schmeling, Braddock, Baer, Conn etc. Not to mention wins over a vintage Jersey Joe Walcott, who's a certified ATG.

Vitali, Tyson, Holyfield, Tua, Grant, Rahman, Morrison, Bruno... Your argument doesn't help his case.

Dude you can't bash Joe Louis because he was living 100 yrs ago!
Babe Ruth couldn't hit Roger Clemens fastball, but that certainly doesn't
mean Clemens is better than Ruth. You have to take EVERYTHING into it's
proper context of the time period.Understand?Lennox Lewis had the advantage
of science with diet and exercise that wasn't available to Louis.Heck, nobody
even knew smoking caused cancer back then!

Tyson was shot and Holyfield was beyond his best time.

I took out Walcott I because of the shady decision, and Carnera because well, it's Carnera. Let's not just list names.

Shady decision in the first fight, beat him in the second fight.

Tyson wasn't shot, he had just beat Brian Nielsen and Andrew Golota. Holyfield wasn't shot, he has just beat Vaughn Bean and Mike Tyson.

                  Your argument sucks, next?

I think this is a decent list:

10 - Sonny Liston or several potential others
9 - Jack Dempsey or Jack Johnson
8 - Mike Tyson or Evander Holyfield
                      7 - George Foreman
                      6 - Joe Frazier
                      5 - Larry Holmes
                      4 - Lennox Lewis
                      3 - Rocky Marciano
                      2 - Joe Louis
                      1 - Muhammad Ali
