He had implied he wants a rematch now he seems to be backtracking, not a redeeming factor.

Groves has put the fear into Froch. George has turned out to be Frochs worst nightmare
Perhaps he feels as if he desrves more (and perhaps he does), but the onus is on him to accept that figure, not on Froch to offer more. Groves will get the bigger paydays down the line and has apparently already turned down an offer in excess of a £ mil.
Despite the way he's trying to spin it, it appears to me that it's Groves who is preventing the fight from being made by asking for too much. Like it or not he can't expect 50-50 or even 60-40 against a guy of Frochs stature at this relatively early stage in his career.

The IBF ordered a rematch but also have a statutory purse split which Froch is fully entitled to enforce. Groves is a decent fighter (though I don't think he'll beat Froch now Carl knows what he's got) but he apparently believes he's worth more than he actually is at this stage of his career.

Untimely stoppage or not ( I felt it was), I think a rematch will present different issues for Groves if he fights the same fight. The good thing is capable of fighting in diff ways, but can he do it the whole fight . I have always put GG on a personal list of the top athletes in boxing, but that's isnt what wins top level fights all the time...he could end up pissing this whole Froch thing away if he cant figure out how to close out the fight properly.
Groves needs to do some roadwork. He has the same problem as Haye: stamina.
