Sounds awesome. But Serg does have a title defense lined up for this summer. And seeing how GGG seems to love staying busy, I have a proposal. Some guys named Ward was saying the other day he's ready for GGG whenever. So instead of predictably lining up another no-hoper. How about GGG take that Ward guy up on his offer while he's waiting on Serg to handle his B.I. in June. That way he'll be nice and sharp by time Serg is ready to get it on this fall/winter.
Mr. Let me sue my promoter to shelf myself?
Mr. I'll move up to LHW 3 years ago?
A fight with GGG is going to be a big money fight... I don't know if you've noticed but GGG is putting up very good ratings for HBO.
But is he a big enough name to be on PPV? Martinez wants the fights that will do big numbers on PPV. Martinez vs Golovkin wouldn't do anywhere as much as a fight with Cotto or Canelo would. He'd make a few million more doing those fights compared to Golovkin.
He'd make more money fighting Rubio in Argentina than with GGG.
I don't know about that. Yes he would attract a massive crowd and massive ratings in Argentina, but the TV networks over there are nowhere near as rich as HBO, and with all the GGG hype they would sell a solid amount of PPVs.

No sense in moving up and fighting the #1 guy at 168 before he gets the chance to fight the #1 guy at 160. Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

Oh my bad. I was under the impression that GGG was willing to fight anybody from 54-68.

Yes but they dont have to pay anyone else. He'd be pocketing a significant share of everything. He's huge out there and Argentina seems to ball out for their athletes so theres that. He'd be cutting some middle men out and could make big money and the publicity would be easy to come by. He'd be the shot caller and he's allegedly pretty business savvy and smart outside the ring so he could maybe cause a bit of a bid war within networks there and other countries. Sure, he's no Floyd but get Froch in the UK, Sturm in Germany, K Bros too and Serg out in Argentina and theyre pretty damn big out there.
