We as hardcore fans make the sport. Of course the casuals don't care. DID I EVER DEBATE THAT!? I said him not stacking cards because it doesn't appeal to casuals is a slap to our face as hardcore because WE MAKE THE BIG EVENTS!

We are the ones who get the casuals excited. We are the ones who constantly annoy them to watch. So not giving us shiiiit to care about on the undercard, see how well that fared with Pac-Rios. With a solid undercard we could of made that card do 750k

This whole assumption that 'casuals don't care about undercards' is a complte joke. You honestly think casual fans will be inclined to buy a TR PPV after the Pacquiao-Rios debacle?

I agree that casual fans might not give a **** about undercards if the main-event is a barnburner, like Froch-Groves (Matchroom got away with one there), but if the main event does not live up to expectations a couple of good quality undercards is essential to keep the 'casual' fans coming back for more.

Arum rolled the dice with that piece of shit of a card last time and it failed. Now he has resorted to justifying his ******ity with more ******ity.

I'm a little shocked at some of the better posters here tbh.

Pacquiao-Rios did 450k PPV sales. Tell me again that undercards don't matter (or give me the Macao excuse).

You're delusional. Hard cores don't make the events, casuals do. Guess how many people showed up to see the best fight of our generation, Castillo Corrales?

What hell!? Your not making sense. That's not even remotely comparable to Floyd-Canelo or Oscar-Floyd. Not to mention casuals aren't as interested in lightweights compared to 147 and up. Everybody knows in combat sports the lighter weights are where its at for wars but people like power punches. They like knockouts.

Oscar was already a star when he fought Floyd. Floyd was already a star when he fought Canelo. To get massive numbers you need a opponent. Hard cores hype up the opponent since the casual already know Oscar and Floyd. Like proven against Guerrero and Manny vs Rios, nobody wants to pay for somebody you know their going to dominate.

But like also in Floyd-Guerrero they only got 750k because of the undercard. That's why I said if Manny-Rios had a good undercard it could have reached that. When your hardcores don't even want to buy you have a huge problem.

Thank you! I'm shocked too. Maybe I misled them. I REPEAT. This was not to deny casuals don't care that much. Its saying Arum needs to retire and go away because he treats us like crap. Feeding us garbage and not giving us fights we want, and when he actually does he puts on crappy undercards. Constantly "marinating" fights til somebody loses, then cashing out on them to younger guys. That's not how you build stars.

HBO had more FOTY candidates but Showtime won the PPV and money war because they gave us the fights that we wanted and plenty more to go with it.

Only people who care about undercards is the people on BScene and not everyone on here cares about it either.

And too be honest Arum got LUCKY as hell in Provodnikov. Because to be honest who the hell cared about him before Bradley? Before it was suppose to be a dirt cheap easy shut UD for Bradley against a FNF fighter. If Bradley would have coasted to a win that Marquez fight wouldn't have been as interesting and would of done 200k. Plus the fact Providnikov still got paid pennies to take outvAlvarez. Lucas loss to danny but with Haymon the man aat least got paid.

Golden boy pays their fighters and gives us the fights we want and plenty of them in one night. As fans what more do you want? Arum and Son King keep the cheap criminal boxing politics alive. How is he not a cancer?

i'm hoping for a good undercard everytime, so i guess most of us here are in the 10% minority. but really, bob's observation is right. whenever we have some ppl come over for a fight, for the 10 ppl that came, i'm the only one watching the whole show. some would just throw glances at the undercards, comment a bit, eat, drink, chat, but don't really care about them.
