In terms of US market it's dying, the ratings are proof of that. They're expanding but really they took an already expanded market, tried to unionize it and made it a mostly american show. MMA had a bunch of different venues and leagues watched world wide and UFC bought them out....now they're like oh maybe we should've marketed to what made it big to begin with.
As for those lames that say boxing is dead really dont know jack shizz bout boxing or even MMA for that matter. Punching someone is the most natural thing, its ur first instinct in a fight and for that matter ppl will wanna watch it.Comment

Hey Dana, stop comparing horse **** to a New York steak. There is no equivalence between the two sports. One sport appeals to a mostly white audience hungry to see other whites actually win bouts. While another has a history that is etched into the American fabric. When Joe Louis was on deck against Max Schmeling he represented the USA at a critical point in our Nation's history.
What does the UFC stand for, or more precisely why does a punk like White get to talk like he has any real meaning?
UFC is putting on 50+ live events this year. In 2012, it was about 34 live events. And UFC isn't a sport.Comment

I think a prime great ko artist would do well. What prime great boxing champion has ever tried the ufc? None? Oh ok. Even a non ko artist in floyd would look like one with those little mma gloves. Floyd would be very elusive in there.. he could probably pick up takedown defense fairly easily as he's martially gifted. He could do well in any martial discipline.
Dana needs to stop assuming he has a mandate over boxing when his people beat boxing's castoffs and retirees. Its embarassing
put a prime ko artist fighter in with those powderpuffs and see what happens..Comment

I think Dana White knows that in terms of history his UFC cannot compare in the slightest with boxing, so every now and then he will make comments such as this like what would happen to a boxer in the MMA...No one really cares, he is just saying it to keep the MMA vs Boxing talks going and stay relevant.
Personally I do not watch or follow the UFC but I respect the fighters because they are still fighters at the end of the day...I just hate the comparisons that go on. MMA is a different category of fighting than boxing. Comparisons made in a fantasy match up kind of way are fine I guess, but to realistically compare fighters form both don't make much sense to me.
A big time Rugby player from over here in the UK would most likely suck if he went into the NFL for a one off game...So what, totally different but slightly similar sports, and thats it.Comment
