    Sir;
No disrespect to your opinion. But when was the last time FMJ fought anyone remotely close to someone like Lara???? When was the last time he fought someone who thinks in the ring? it's easy to hit someone who comes in a straight line like a Canelo, or a Maidanna, then to play chess with a slick Cuban like Lara.
Trust me we all would like to see Jr. fight Lara, or to true fans of the game, the holy grail, that being Sergio Martinez. Those are fighters that think in the ring like Jr. Got mad skills, and have the energy, and get stronger in the championship rds....

Rigo beat the 2012 fighter of the year, and he was the underdog. nuff said

Adonis became Lineal at Light Heavy with impressive title defenses. applause worthy.

I can't agree with those of you who say Tim or GGG, both of those guys get a hell no for me.
Can I get some of this please???

To me the guys that should have been in the running were:
Stephenson, Kovalev, Mikey Garcia, Bradley & Swift Garcia.
Those guys stepped their games up against top guys in the division.
Jr. fought guys that were easy for for him to smash.

Stevenson is a worthy choice, but I disagree with the others.

Garcia- Good win against Lucas, but Lucas wasn't a good enough win for me to say he's the fighter of the year. Matthyse has never been a world champion.

Kovalev- Good year against ok competition at best. He's a unique case because he could very well be sitting in Stevenson's chair had he had first dibs on Chad. Unfortunately, he didn't.

Mikey- Good year against ok at best competition. No one on his list of opponents last year even drives him into this conversation.

Bradley- Solid year. Struggled with a guy he should not have struggled with in Ruslan. Some say he could have lost but I disagree, he was the winner. And then he beat Marquez coming off of the Manny KO, great win. But is it better than beating Nonito?

This is what burns me about today's fans. If an opponent is diesel enough, his name is all you need. No amount of padded records, bogus rankings, or paper belts can hide what a fighter is really worth.

Canelo was a good win. Guerrero was nothing special at all.

Who was more worthy from Golden Boy at Welterweight at the time? You seen what happen when he said he was fighting Alexander? All of the negative feed back.

Stop hating dog it is a terrible look. Like I said they were 73-1 when he fought them end of story.

He no doubt beat Castillo in both fights; where the first fight was closer because of his hurt hand.

Second fight there were no doubts at all. The only reason some haters say that Mayweather lost is because they hate him.

Manny lost to JMM on at least 3 occasions and didn't look good in his last fight! He is a one-trick pony at best who got wins against a drained Delahoya, Cotto, got a few gifts against JMM before getting put to sleep!

Always fought the weakest link as champions coming up in weight. Got a bogus title against a shot Margarito who never fought in that division!!

I really don't understand all the recent hype surrounding Lara as "the guy to beat Floyd." More people than not felt he got a gift draw with Molina. Was dropped multiple times and likely saved from being stopped by Angula by the Hasim Rahman head Perro sustained. And he was in a tooth-n-nail fight with Vanes. Even though I feel he was pulling away. All in all, he's struggled greatly with guys not even in Floyd's universe. Styles make fights. And it would be an interesting puzzle for Floyd to solve. But if Molina, Angulo, and Vanes could. I think Floyd will be just fine.

BTW, if Floyd did fight and beat Lara. Much of what I just mentioned about Lara's struggles with less than elite competition will be used as an excuse to **** on Floyd. And most of the ones doing the ****in' will be the ones who nowadays are talking about Floyd is ducking, or "never dare step in the ring with Lara."

lol it dont matter man there is always going to be someone new that the fans who hate floys will make out to be better fighters then they are so they can say mayweather is ducking someone. remember this time last year he was ducking canelo because canelo was the "new hope" for a mayweather lose

If ANYONE else fought a Top 5 WW to win the vacant RING title at 147, then fought the RING JMW champion coming off a win over undefeated Trout, all the while losing like 2-3 rounds, it wouldn't even be a discussion.

It was either Floyd, Rigo, Bradley, or Danny.

Stevenson??? No. He beat Dawson, the true LHW champ. But, that doesn't change the fact that Dawson was coming off a one sided beat down where he drained himself against Ward. His other "notable" wins were Bellew, who's Top 10 at 175, decent win at the very best, and Cloud who was really coming off losing his last few significant fights.

Golovkin??? No way, he only did one real legit fight this year, Macklin.
