    Rigo
He beat up the 2012 FOTY and Donaire was, on average, higher in P4P ranking than either Canelo or Marquez. (yeah, Agbeko is only a respectable former champ; whereas Guerrero was highly ranked. Bradley was entertaining but not dominant in his other win.)
I'd give Floyd a close second.
Adonis, Kovalev or GGG were active but not at P4P level.

btw, I see that most people seem to have Rigo in this long thread

For mine Rigo should have gotten the nod. He completely outclassed a guy recognised on all lists as top 5 p4p and he looked good doing it. Shame the media and his promoter are too busy taking a **** on him.

That said Floyd is clearly the next choice if not Rigo. Any person who can't see that is in denial.

When was the last time he fought someone who thinks in the ring? it's easy to hit someone who comes in a straight line like a Canelo, or a Maidanna, then to play chess with a slick Cuban like Lara.
Trust me we all would like to see Jr. fight Lara, or to true fans of the game, the holy grail, that being Sergio Martinez. Those are fighters that think in the ring like Jr. Got mad skills, and have the energy, and get stronger in the championship rds....
Canelo is a thinker. He's a tactical boxer but that wasnt why he was a threat. He was 22 yrs old and 164 lbs. He looked like a Jumbo Man and Floyd walked him down, putting on an ATG performance. That fight looked like Floyd's last 5 fights combined.

You again lol. No one dominated top competition like Floyd did. Adonis is my other choice because he fought multiple elite fighters as well. Rigo fought a great fighter, and an ok fighter. Floyd fought two young guys who were both heavier and bigger. Both had completely different styles and he had to change his style completely in order to dominate them without being grazed. Its legendary. And the Canelo fight, was like an all knew Mayweather. It looked like his past 5 fights combined. And to think, MILLIONS of casual fans watched this fight and probably didnt even know that professional pugilism could be executed on this level. You should be proud of what version of Floyd showed up that night because EVERYONE witnessed it. It makes you look at the sport differently to know that someone out there can actually do that.

It seems you don't understand that winning a dominant but boring 12 round decision makes you a better fighter than winning a 7-5 war.

Fighter of the Year means best. Not most exciting or most active or most popular. It means the best. Floyd Mayweather is the best.
An enormous junior middleweight would decapitate 2 junior welterweights? You don't say!

Ruslan and Marquez would certainly fall in line with Alvarez's opponent selection at 154, I'll give you that.

              People still talking about Stevenson

In no way at all did Adonis Stevenson have as good a year as Mayweather, let alone better.

Any who... Get fighter of the decade. That's impressive.

If anyone deserves foty it's Tim ***ing Bradley!!!!!
Funny thing is. This punk b1tch waste of skin is on record saying Floyd would duck Guerrero. Not sure who, but its somebody's signature. And I'm sure if you looked hard enough, this b1tch was probably saying the same thing about Canelo. Now this b1tch has changed his tune. Can't see how anybody takes this b1tch ass f@gg0t seriously.

Allow me to present both arguments. Please select the one that fits your bias.

                  Argument A Against Floyd

Floyd fought a green version of Canelo. He barely beat Trout (which I thought Trout won) Plus he made Canelo come down to 152, after coming in on fight night at 173 against Trout. It would have been a different story if they fought after Canelo had more time to mature in the ring.

Guerrero? LOL He was a career 130 fighter who came up and beat an unknown Aydin, and Andre Berto who was exposed by Ortrees!

                  Argument B - For Floyd

Canelo just came off of a victory over Trout (who just beat Cotto, that gave Floyd a hard time) that a lot of people were picking Trout to win. NOBODY thought Floyd would take this fight. There were countless threads about it. Canelo was the man to beat in the division and in the process, Floyd became the #1 guy at 154, after already being the man at 147

Guerrero skipped two divisions to beat the interim/silver/mandatory or whatever you want to call him in Aydin, who was undefeated. Then he goes on to fight Berto who not many people were picking Guerrero to win. He was Floyd's mandatory after beating 2 top 10 welterweights. He has to defend against his mandatories like everyone else, what was he supposed to do vacate his title? People would then say he was ducking Guerrero.
