Any way you look at it it's unfair to let a guy with not only international and Olympic experience, but top level professional experience as a world champion fight guys without a tenth of that experience. Its akin to let the Superbowl champions play in a college bowl game.

Clearly, this doesn't make much sense...and there's a reason the stated rules say he cannot compete, he's about 4x over the fight limit and will be over the maximum age when it happens. The only way this gets allowed is if the AIBA are as corrupt as other boxing organisations and give Wlad a special, VIP one off pass to get in as he will give publicity to the sport and the competition. If he even got the medal, what would be the point? It would look good on paper and seem impressive in about 30 years or in history books but it's quite pointless IMO...I think the criteria for allowance should be pros with less than 15 pro fights with limited amateur experiences or those that didn't get into the Olympics, or some other circumstances like that...

I'm speaking to the bozos who would condone this if it could/does happen. Reading your posts you don't seem to be one of those people. But the comparison under those circumstances is valid. I don't like the idea of any pros at any sport competing in the Olympics, it goes against the spirit of the games.

It would be historic but i'd rather him continuing on his path of getting records in the pros...a second gold medal will be tainted and the haters will be all over it, it's not really much of a gain for Wlad at all, it would be unique but then again that would only be because this would be a new rule enforced, if he was allowed. As a fan, I'd prefer him to just clean up the pros as best he can, maybe if he loses his belts he can go after the gold medal as a swan song but no point otherwise.

Its not about hate. I find Wlad boring but give him his due credit as an ATG.It would be historic, but its the fact the he's the professional heavyweight champion of the world that would taint it. As I've stated, the Olympics should be reserved for amateurs...no basketball dream teams, no pro hockey players, no pro beach Volleyball, none of it. The Olympics have become a farce because of all of this, this just throws more fuel on the fire.

This would certainly be historical but it would be better for Wlad to keep on with his pro career as long as he is healthy and motivated.

I wouldn't see any reason for not letting the likes of Wilder, Povetkin or Fury competing at the Olympics if Wladimir may do so.

I hope Wlad faces all the good challengers that are right there. Unfortunately, since his brother has (semi) retired, it will be difficult, I guess, to watch Wlad fight them all before retiring. I mean look at this list of good/potentially good contenders :

Jennings, Arreola/Stiverne, Tyson Fury/Chisora, Pulev, Perez, Solis, Adamek, David Price, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and maybe...

Hughie Fury and/or Anthony Joshua.

The Leapai fight is such a waste of time! This guy has a slim puncher's chance. Waiting until April the 26th is waaaay too long!
