  • Wladimir Klitschko: "I'm going to take part in the 2016 Olympics"

I'm sure many of you have heard in the past that Wlad has wanted to take part in the Rio Olympics in 2016 and regain the gold medal that he won at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, a 20 year difference. It seems to have been confirmed that pro boxers will be allowed to take part in the Olympic boxing, and Wladimir has been making noise about wanting that second gold medal for a while now...seems to be pretty serious about it now too...

So, if he does go on and compete in the games, I assume he will retire from the pros? Is this a good idea? Will it/how will it impact his legacy? Who should he fight if he only has 2 years left in the pros?

"I'm definitely going to take part in the Olympics, if at that time I still have the health and motivation. There are still two and a half years before the Olympics - on the one hand, this may seem like an eternity, and on the other, it will pass very quickly "

If he goes back to the olympics it would be a ****ing joke. Olympic boxing isn't for professionals. His experience and traning alone are far more than any opponent he would likely face.

He's gonna beat Aerreola, WIlder, probably Jennings before he retires, unless wilder catches him with some lucky ****.

But the notion he'd go back to the olympics is disgraceful

I don't know why he wants a gold medal again...he sold his one for charity for a million dollars I think and the guy even gave it back to Wlad afterwards...strange. His words sort of suggest he is losing motivation though and just wants an easy blaze of glory to bow out on.

That would be a disgrace, and totally unfair in every way. Wlad should be universally ridiculed if he even tries to enter the Olympics.

I don't understand how or why they are allowing pros in there anyway...Imagine Wlad v Audley Harrison for another gold medal tho ...

Chisora should take part and take at him.

It would be an amazing achievement for a 40 year old man to win Olympic Gold for the second time, 20 years after he won it the first time.
