im tired of seeing all you fools saying nonsense "ohhh garcia is afraid"..."robert doesnt want him to fight gamboa"...etc. Shut the hell up, you guys sound like a bunch of girls. Are you really backing gamboa?, the guy who backed out of the rios fight last minute?.... hahahah. cmon guys, mikey is too much power for gamboa. Mikey said it himself, if gamboa doesnt overprice himself like last time, the fight will get made. Gamboa never beat ANYBODY, wasnt even active enough, why are you guys bigging him up all crazy?. smh.... and yes mikey hasnt beaten anybody as well, but he sure has more under his belt for the past few years.

Yuri and 50 going to the fight was the best thing they could of done . I was so happy when I saw Yuri there . They did everything perfect last night . For the first time I'm confident this fight has to happen. Yesssss !!!!! I do feel that 50 should separate his rap persona from the promoter persona a little bit for his own good .

Regardless of how you might feel about him, I think 50 did his job tonight. He's charismatic and likes to trash talk, might as well use that as a promoter. I can't say I disagree with him either. Though Mikey didn't put me to sleep, I stopped watching almost entirely.

As soon as the camera panned to them in between rounds, I had a feeling that something will go down. Both fighters kept it respectful which was good. I wish post-fight faceoffs would happen more often.

This is a damn good way to promote a fight. I like Mikey Garcia, but I will be rooting for Gamboa on this one. Gamboa winning will add pizazz to the sport even for just a drop. And I like seeing 50 cent succeeding as a promoter in this business. This is going to be huge.

It's possible Gamboa burned his chance at the big-time with the Rios debacle and the ensuing layoff. Yuri was on fire the moment the fight with "Bam Bam" was announced, then he absolutely plummeted like a stone from there. I honestly don't know if Gamboa can regain his old form, but I'm certain he'll bring the old fire. His future depends on it.

Hopefully so. I don't ascribe to the notion that fighters get "bored" in the ring as many feel when a fighter outboxes and decisions his comp. Hell I was impressed by Mikey last night although he got cracked early. Burgos is no slouch. If you see me busting balls it's because I see genuine concern in the Garcia camp when it comes to fighting Yuri.

But there's not doubt Gamboa will have extra motivation for this fight.

If Yuri is able to win this fight, he and 50 are in the mix for good money fights. Good move by 50, i'm glad he's pushing for the fight, it's a good one. He is doing his job and I respect him for that, hope he is successful because boxing needs more promotors in the mix.

I believe many athletes need a sense of urgency to perform near their potential. It's human nature. Some have the the mental discipline to be nearly 100% every time out, like Mayweather.

I remember watching a program, years ago, with NY sports personality Mike Francesa. He said that he "honestly believed" Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez was "one of those rare athletes" that got bored if a game wasn't on the line. Hernandez was one of the greatest big-game pitchers in baseball history, but he sometimes got battered in meaningless games.

We may never see the Yuri that tore through Solis again, but I think Garcia will motivate Gamboa to dig deep and channel "El Ciclon" one more time. Yuri's career depends in it, and he knows it. How's that for a sense of urgency?
